I think this has to be it. I can't imagine that they'd sell 75K tix for weekend 1 straight away, especially since last year it didn't even sell out after a week. I have been in the "not likely" page since 10 though, so time will tell.

and look what happened when the general sale happened last january, gone within minutes.

today say 80,000 tickets, 2 a piece, 40,000 orders. i could easily see that many people ready to commit based on what happened for 2012.

Got my Weekend Ones 33 minutes into the wait.

My daughter in Copenhagen was able to land her two at 59 minutes after the opening bell!

We both got the encouraging message at the top of the waiting room. There is a more ominous one now.

Yes, I believe a lot more people are prepared to do the layaway plan this year to prevent any problems like have been experienced the last 2 years. Also keep in mind that the number of people wanting to go to Coachella has been on what I assume would be a sharp increase the last few years. I wouldn't be surprised if they start making more plans to expand (either more area / stages, more days, or more weekends) within the next couple of years.

The truth is that there is a huge market for anyone looking to start up a good musical event on the West Coast that a.) has plenty of room, b.) plenty of stages, and c.) occurs when the weather is nice.

If an event were to do well, grow, and compete with Coachella in April or early May we probably wouldn't be running into these issues.

I forgot they went on sale today and just remembered and tried at 11:20 for weekend 1 and got the tickets about 10 minutes later.

I went into the waiting room at 11:25 for both weekends, got in for weekend 2 almost immediately and decided to wait and see if I got into weekend 1, about 15 min later I got into weekend 1. Just finished purchasing my two passes now. Weekend 1 here I come! Feels weird to have tickets so early...
