I appreciated Jimmy Cliff at 2012 and all the ska bands, but I wouldn't mind seeing a couple more reggae bands play next year. Escpecially some old roots like Junior Marvin or Black Uhru.

Steel Pulse plays often in CA.. Not that I do not want to see them at coachella. I just feel like coachella likes to pull the randos who rarely play or are extremely legendary and or up and coming.

Yeah as much as I love Steel Pulse, you can pretty catch them somewhere in CA year round it feels like. I will admit though, Baylon The Bandit is one of my all time favorite albums of any genre.
Steel Pulse is not on the same level as Jimmy Cliff. (But I would enjoy a Steel Pulse set more than ~ 50% of the acts who typically play Coachella. But that's just me).
Toots & the Maytals, yes, yes, fuck yes, BOOK THEM PAUL
Burning Spear, yes, just for Marcus Garvey and Garvey's Ghost, if nothing else.
Bunny Wailer, yes
Black Uhuru, yes I think probably so.
also, it's Junior Murvin, not Marvin*, and I don't know anything he's done beyond "Police and Thieves". I'd take, say, the Skatalites over him, I think.
But how bout we get really radical and get Mighty Sparrow to Coachella? fuck yes. never seen him, would kill 500 coldplay fans to make it happen.
*edit, sorry, right, there's one of each, Marvin was a Wailer, I forgot that. I don't know any of his solo work though.
This
These guys are terrible...Isla vista white kid reggae
were really good...would love to see them at chella.
yes Steel Pulse and 10ft Ganja Plant!!!!
Just saw Sierra Leon Refugee All Stars. They were so good and send such a positive message. Spent about 20 minutes with them backstage after the show and they are really good people. The world needs more positive thinkers and anti machine music! Such great vibes.
