Just giving newer people a hard time about misspellings and vague/incomplete thought posts.
The list that will be more important is the annual rumors and confirmations thread, which should get started sometime in October/November, as soon as those things are a bit more concrete.
new EP out now....
Coachella 07 (the introduction), 08 (the bands), 09 (the documentary), 10 (the people i came with), 11 (the relationship test... we passed), 12 (whatever the weather, Dirty Epic forever), 13 (the year of the troll)
- PEARL JAM WHY YOU HATE COACHELLA? -
are mumford & sons a given headliner? or are they at subheadlining status still?
Seriously...? Don't be that guy man. It's as if I my post was riddled with ambiguity. It was really nothing more than me being too lazy to type the words "& the Magnetic Zeros" "& sons". Keep on dictating dict-a-bird. Perhaps a more relevant task will present itself to you soon and my "fucked up" syntax will not burden you any further.
This.

Have Franz Ferdinand give any concrete time line for the album they've been playing this summer?
GOLDENVOICE are the promoter on the Smashing Pumpkins arena tour.
The tours LA area appearance will be on/around October 15, which is exactly 6 months before Coachella, which has been used as a radius clause in the past. The pumpkins are touring on their best album since Adore or even Mellon.
It's not better than Machina or Adore. I'd love to see the pumpkins at coachella though.
Somehow I doubt they would be there. If GV didn't book them for Coachella when the "reunion" took place in 2007, then I seriously doubt they'd be booked now. That new album would have to be REALLY good.
And even if they were booked, would Billy Corgan agree to take anything less than a headlining slot?
What a consolation prize! Sorry you couldn't score a ticket to Coachella... but hey... you get to go see one of the shittiest live acts ever instead!
so is this the thread for this year?
okay. well then. fiona apple will be playing 2013.
you're welcome.
I think Edward Sharpe, Phoenix, Pretty Lights, BigGigantic, Das Racist, Crystal Method, XX, Mau5, Atmosphere, Tyler, Cat Empire, Rebelution, Grizzly Bear, Panda Bear are some good guesses...Skrilly is gonna be there, if he's not i'll be (pleasantly) surprised- same with Aoki and the like for the ravey boppers' name recognition
Cudi, Matisyahu, Pepper would be really cool. Two Door Cinema Club and Tallest Man on Earth would be great returners
I'd just like to mention that the idea of 'Skrilly' headlining would make me vomit. I would rather slam my dick in a car door.
That is all. Carry on.
I think Matt and Kim would make for a good subheadliner. I saw them at the 'roo in 2011 and my friend who had never heard of them before became a fan after their set. They have the new album "Lightning" coming out and I really like their new single "Now."
| May 22 - Paul McCartney | May 24 - Black Flag | May 25 - Soundgarden | May 31 - Baroness | June 1 - Andy Stott | June 10 - Dragonette | June 22 - Tricky | July 27 - Black Sabbath | August 2 - Rob Zombie/Mastodon |August 15 - Queens of the Stone Age | October 4-6 - ACL |
Missed them in the Do Lab this year, but Two Fingers would be great with there album out in a month.
I'm not an expert at judging which artists go where on the lineup so instead of "subheadliner" I guess I should have just said "somewhere on lineup."
