I don't mind spending a little more money.
there's no price increase. that $50 is all the hidden fees and stuff we used to have to pay to ticketbastard/frontgay
they're finally being honest about the face price of tickets and we're all freaking out about getting gouged
There is some theoretical dead weight loss any time there is price / supply fixing happening to a product, but in this case, there wouldn't be any noticeable difference to us as the consumer. This is because demand already far outweighs supply, so any price fixing by GV that would actually cause dead weight loss would require them raising prices so high that they wouldn't sell out. Let's hope this never happens and let's all be very happy that tickets are only $349 ... there's no one here that honestly thinks that isn't worth it - except perhaps that Sonic fellow who will just be pissed off that SHM won't be there next year.

You can probably find more than $40 on the ground over the course of 332 days.
What happened to the profit from gouging cold people for hoodies?
Price approximately =120.00 per day. Average bands I can catch on any given day= 10. Actual cost= $12 per show!!!! Fucking SWEEEEEEET!!! It's a screaming deal for the best circus in town!!!
06, 07, 09, 10 , 12...
Is that the guy we gave the 10 dollars, the bottle of booze and the hooker to? That's the one JR....All right...I feel like solid gold already!!!!
haha good point.
I paid almost $400 this year for the shuttle pass combo anyway (didn't get presale, should have). $30-40 raise in 6 years isn't terrible. I can't say that "we haven't raised prices in six years..." makes it any better. Kind of makes it sound like it's just time to raise prices for the heck of it, even though we all know better. I'm just curious to what it's going towards like everyone else I guess.
it's weird how people feel comfortable making shit up because they heard a rumor.

She added the phrase "meany head" to my profile.I hardly think I'm an attention whore.
my total through front gate for last year was $373 so $399 (shuttle and pass) isn't a huge increase, I guess
edit: but I have a serious moral issue with doing presale again after the fucking abysmal sahara tent of last year
Call me a Republican.

I bet the price increase had more to do with the Trayvon Martin fad than the weather. Hoodies are a pretty hot item.

LOL! I am glad someone can confirm that, I thought I saw the price change but doubted myself. Merch stands are usually ripe for anyone dishonest. All that cash, no receipts or cashier trace. They usually get rid of the cash by having someone they know buy something for $10 with a $20 bill, the cashier gives the person $90 change.
I honestly like the little things like the magazine and the Coachella box, etc. More water refill stations would be good, though.
yeah...that's this...sorta http://www.coachella.com/forum/showt...74#post2490874
