You don't have to own a record but once we start themes it might be fun to hit up goodwills and used stores for something that fits. You are welcome to just come hang out and listen too. Next First Friday is June 1st but if that doesn't work for people we can choose a different day. I chose first friday because there will be things to do before and after record club as well.

I'll be flying in from Georgia on 6/1, so I don't know how enthusiastic I'll be to attend that night. I'll also be losing 3 hours, so 7pm will feel like 10pm.

We'll see how well it goes having it on First Friday. I was just informed that instead of the band playing in the front parking lot facing grand, a DJ will be spinning in the courtyard just steps from my living room door. Hopefully he's at least good.

Do you people listen to actual vinyl records?

If so, why?

We do. I started collecting vinyl last year when I started missing something tangible for music. I used to have a large cassette collection that I replaced with CD's and then I lost that collection and went several years with just digital music. I have found listening to music on vinyl to be more intimate and I am much more attentive to it by listening this way as well. It's also fun to have people over and bring over different music. Drinking, sharing conversation and music is pretty fun.
