I publicly shamed the person who has me so I don't actually expect to get anything in the mail.
My recipient's mix should arrive by week end! Again, apologies for my tardiness.
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT
6/6: The Field @ The Independent
6/26: Colin Stetson @ The Chapel
But you never explicitly stated who it was. Your public wants to know.
And your mix won't arrive until the weekend? Jesus, what is wrong with you people? You spend countless hours sitting at a computer every week and you can't throw together a mix? Yes, I know, you all went to Sasquatch or demf or whatever. Lame excuses. This was set up weeks before those events transpired. This is why we can't have nice things.
EDIT: Parker sent a 2-hour mix? Damn. Can I get him next time? That sounds awesome.
I've got chronic proscrastinitus, you prick. It's a fucking disease.

I will make u a special mix, Greg.
Summer festivals are definitely causing some delays in this round ...
And, ods.. - WANT your mix! Thundercat is one of my current love objects and the rest of your mix just calls out for some summertime heavy rotation!
That said, I would also be happy to see 1970's punk, 1980's hip hop, 1990's grunge, glitch, glam, or most anything else that might hit my mailbox ...
SLC Summer so far:

I was quite pleased to return to the reasonable civility of Brooklyn from a weekend surrounded by smelly hippies in the mud and rain up in the mountains to find this mix...
A Slice of Paradise/Music to Soothe the Beat Within
Based on the image on the tracklisting side of the sleeve, I'm cleverly deducing this came from Mugwog (whose first name I will not reveal as I don't know that he's spread it around here.) As I quite enjoy hitting shuffle on my iPod, this collection had tremendous appeal for me, as there's a lot of variety in the style of music. Upon first listen it also flows tremendously well, so well done on that.
I was familiar with some of this - Stereolab, Tom Tom Club, much of the jazz - but also loved all that stuff, which was certainly handy. It was the best kind of familiarity. And there's also a lot here that I either wasn't familiar with at all or hadn't really dug too deeply into, so it worked in that way as well.
Love the mix, and as we're heading off for an exceedingly long drive tomorrow for Bonnaroo I'm definitely planning on having this along to enjoy on the open road.
Thanks Mugwog (right?)!!!
(I can post a full tracklisting shortly)
Yesterday, I received my mix from Stuporfly. I haven't listened to all of it yet, but it's pretty interesting. So far, I have never heard any of the songs on there before.

Let it be known that an overcast, crappy morning at work was completely disrupted by a shining beacon of happiness and peace in the form of a Mix CD. Your mix CD, to be specific.
I mean, imagine my jubilation as I opened up that bubble mailer and found all this!
Without even listening to the first note of the first song, I was beyond impressed. The artistic, mood-setting cover artwork. The very stylish and dramatically penmanship'd tracklisting. The chuckle-provoking note. (and the bonus drawing included! It's like I won some sort of lottery!) And now, about halfway through my first listen, I'm enjoying the tunes even more than everything else. It's exactly right up my alley, especially for a day like today. I feel like I was very lucky to get your mix this round, and hope that someday I can repay you in kind for such a high quality product. I suppose only time will tell.
Thank you!
Your new BAF (Best Acquaintence Forever),

Woo, I received my mix from who I assume is sonofhal. I appreciate you sending the mix this far, and you're someone whose musical taste I admire, so I look forward to listening to it. Most the artists are unfamiliar to me, and I will post a review soon.

NoSurprises12 got matched up with me.
He put together nice artwork for the disc and insert too!
The mix I gave you, Jason, shouldn't be a indicator of what I listen to all the time, so I knew some of the artists/songs on this mix, but mostly it was stuff I never heard before.
34 songs sounds like overkill, but they were all short (and some even stand up comedy bits from Bill Hicks), and the rest rock.
Some notable ones I liked and will keep on my iphone:
-The Promise (the one I had on repeat for the past few days)
-Emily Kane
-Black Out
-Chicago at Night
-Bass Turned Dead
-Sueno un Camino
-Why Girl (Stood out because it's more of a soul song on an otherwise classic/psychedelic/alt rock mix)
(obviously, these are the slower, quieter ones. Maybe it was just the mood I was in when listening to the mix the couple times I did. More of them will probably grow on me on future listens).
Anyway, very nice mix, nicely packaged, and was sent to me asap (I just took a while to get to posting about it because I was in the middle of a move).

I'm so glad you enjoyed it Chris! I tried using the Bill Hicks sketches to break the mix into sections thematically, so I hope it wasn't too distracting (Bill's one of my heroes, so I had to find a way to get some of his stuff in there!). You can also thank my fiance for the inclusion of "Why Girl," as that was from a CD compilation she bought in April during the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender.
