2013 Reunion Wishlist/Speculation Thread

I don't think I would put Fugazi in the "absolutely never gonna happen" category. I remember reading a quote from Ian MacKaye a while ago where he mentioned that a lot of festivals had offered them a lot of money to end their haitus for a one time show. The way he phrased it, I remember thinking that it was less "boo we hate festivals and corporations and profit and DIY for life!!!", and more- if and when they play together again its not going to be about who offers them the most money.

Probably still won't happen, but if they did decide to play a one-off (or two-off) show at some point, I can see the argument for doing it at a festival so you can reach as many fans as possible. Maybe that would be GV's angle.

Huge reunion was leaked to me today. They are going to kick off their reunion tour at Coachella.

Here is the background story. I was in the office of a co-worker in an industry that is so far distanced from music and entertainment that it isn't even funny. There was some Stagecoach memorabilia in the office, and so I made some comment like, "Oh, do you go to Stagecoach?"

Them: "Yes, every year."
Me: "Oh, I go to Coachella every year."
Them: "So do I! I've been every year because of [INSERT BUSINESS CONNECTION WITH GOLDENVOICE.] My favorite acts have been Paul McCartney and Madonna."
Me: "Cool".
BLAH BLAH BLAH BUSINESS
Them (as I am leaving the door): "But you'll never guess who they have for next year."

I get all excited thinking it's a headliner. It's not, but I'm guessing second liner. They say "BLAHBLAHBLAH".

It's pretty big.

I'm not going to ruin anything for anybody, because I do think it will be a great left field surprise, but I am going to leave vague enough clues that when the act ends up on the poster, I can bump this thread and be all like, "Told you I knew what I was talking about." Because I'm an ass.

"On November 1, 2011, Jakob Dylan told Rolling Stone magazine that The Wallflowers have ended their hiatus, stating: "I always wanted to. I never suggested we were breaking up. We all felt we were losing the plot a little bit and we needed a break. And that year break becomes two years, then becomes three years, and before you know it five or six years go by pretty quickly. I can't do what I do in the Wallflowers without them. I miss it. I'm happy to put the acoustic guitar down. That was something I wanted to do, but I never planned on hitting the road and just being the guy with a guitar out there. That never has been exciting to me. I came up loving bands and I want to be in one." He also revealed that a new album is in the works.

In an interview with St. Joseph News Press, Jakob revealed the lineup for the reunion, "Rami Jaffee and Greg Richling and Fred Eltringham. It would be the same lineup as the last record, and two of those guys have been with me since ’92."[3]

On January 31, 2012 the band posted on their official Facebook page that they are currently in the studio with the following line-up: Jakob Dylan, Rami Jaffee, Greg Richling, Stuart Mathis, and drummer Jack Irons.

On April 19, 2012, following a private performance in New York City, Jakob Dylan announced that The Wallflowers will be releasing their sixth studio album in September 2012."

I had a few ideas on this:

Then I realised that the Heads and Smiths would headline, as would Dire Straits, debatably.

So I think it is Eurythmics.
