Loved them in 2011 but going from Blur to How to Destroy Angels is going to be necessary. Just bought tickets to see them in Phoenix next Thursday instead. Love Coachella acts playing in my city NOT during the fucking festival. (I'm looking at you, Sigur Ros.)

Wha? You mean you got a priority ticket via 1iota and you still didn't get in? How early were you? Did they make you get another set of tix for indoor?
Sorry to bring it up, but I haven't been to a Kimmel indoor taping in awhile and am curious to how they handle them nowadays.

This set was fuckimg awesome and my highlight of Friday. My friends were like front row, I had to wait for crew so I couldn't make it all the way up but if I was trying to get close it wouldn't have been too hard. It wasn't as packed as I thought it would be. But it was a lot of fun and they sounded great. Crowd was a bit more broey than I'd have hoped, but the dance party for My Number was awesome, Spanish Sahara of course slayed the crowd. New stuff sounded really great.

He was all over, in the crowd, soloing while crowd surfing, running up and down the area between the stage and the barrier. Even with that said, he seemed much more mellow and in control than 2011 (not a hard thing to do, considering how loco he was then).

FOALS fucking killed it! They absolutely rocked the Gobi. Better than their 2011 set.

Crowd wasn't super packed. The Purity Ring crowd was insane, but the crowd mostly cleared out when they were done. Had no problem getting a great spot for them right when they started.

One of the many highlights of my weekend, they played their hearts out and rocked so hard. I'm so glad I went to this set. The Gobi was not packed, a lot of people were hanging out outside of the tent though. It was easy to move around. I was a little worried about how their set would fare so late and night with the new material being somewhat slower, but they chose their set list wisely. Such a fun set, can't wait to watch it on the webcast during weekend 2 and relive the magic.

Hard to slag on Foals, but saw them last night at the El Rey - they didn't play a LOT of their higher energy/interactive songs in their Gobi Wkd 1 set. After seeing them last night, I really think their new record just doesn't hold up to their last two in terms of energy that would be perfect for their late night set. Here's hoping they change it up for Wkd 2 and throw in, among others, Electric Bloom, Blue Blood and Olympic Airways - have fun seeing them Wkd 2! And yea, was not as crowded as I would have thought, so if you are thinking about going, you don't need to get there extravagantly early.
