Book one of each weekend in April and cancel the others when it's announced. You should already be able to book for the 12-14 weekend.

I'd be shocked if those weren't the dates. Stagecoach has been last wkd in April last three years.

2014 might be the streak-breaker as Easter is 4/20 and I don't think there's ever been an event on Easter sunday. Big 4 was Easter wkd yet only Saturday--but that's all irrelevant for next year.

Houses are already being snapped up. A lot of owners have multiple inquiries that began as soon as wkd 2 ended or they're booked with returning renters. Those who wait until dates are formally announced will be screwed. It'll be less of an issue with hotels.

with it being two weekends, it just seems easier to narrow dates down. i doubt they'd ever go into may or the first week of april.

I am going with 12-13-14. I booked a room a week after I got home last year and only paid a little over 300 for a hotel in Cathedral City

But the people in Indio who decide what dates to issue permits might have a say.

It would also suck for all of the employees in the sponsored tents and actually working for GV who want to be with their families. I imagine there has to be some people that just look at Coachella as another day at the office basically

Ugh hotel rates are already crazy or sold out for several hotels in La Quinta and Palm Desert for what will most likely be weekend one. For now I booked a room in Palm Springs that is a fairly close walk to the shuttle stop.
