1. PULP (suffered through arctic monkeys to get front and center. Ended up near a group of Italians and brits who made the whole thIng feel like a euro disco party. With lasers and bram stoker quotes. Played everything I wanted. When jarvis told the crowd to look up and inhale the moment before this is hard core, it was magical.
1. Radiohead (got a surprisingly great spot, was an amazing first radiohead show. You and whose army, idioteque, and the gloaming stand out. Also, am I the only one who thinks thom was on shrooms?)
3. Seun kuti ( was against the rail smoking a j as Seun looked into my eyes. Made me forget about theheat.
4. Mazzy star ( not to sound cheesy but holding my gf during fade into you after seeing pulp made me shed a single tear. No joke
5. Gary Clark jr for coming out ten minutes early to play at 420 right after we had met a cool dude in a sonIcs jersey who was blazing us out with a blezzy. First full set at coachella for me.
Hm: at the drive-in, modeselektor(evil twin /happy bday were some of the best electro I've ever heard. Sound was perfect as well) thunder cat, the weeknd, gotye (came after weeknd ended, was tripped out by everyone leaving, come to find out he had just played the hit song. No wonder so many bros were leaving. Made room for me for my rave song by him hearts a mess.). Love and light were beyond visionary in the dO lab right after gotye. Better show than justice or girl talk IMO.
Arctic Monkeys
Kasabian

just horrible ; alesso , SHM , st. vincent WAS THE WORST PIECE OF SHIT I COULD EVER HAVE IMAGINED . YOU COULD NOT PAY ME TO LISTEN TO HER. WOW SHE WAS JUST TERRIBLE , calvin harris , Sub focus was a dissapointment when kaskade was killing it right next door . sebastian ingrosso just terrible .
justice was a dissapointment but still decent ,
6/2 - Bjork - Hollywood Palladium
6/5 - Cut Hands - The Void
6/11 GZA - Porter's Pub
6/12 - Casey Abrams - The Griffin
6/13 - Cold Cave - The Void
6/19 - ZZ Ward - Birch Aquarium
There was an older dude next to me who said something about how he was bored and was going to get beers. But I thought they had a decent amount of energy and, moreover, that the energy they had perfectly fit the heat and time of day for when they were playing. Loved that set, and their closing version of Beach Comber was just huge. They got the whole place clapping along.
1. dre and snoop
2. kaskade
3. florence
3. shm
4. justice
1. Dre/Snoop/50/Em/Pac Halogram
2. Modeselektor
3. Radiohead
4. Flying Lotus
5. The Rapture/ The Black Keys
1. Gary Clark Jr - amazing guitarist, what a performance he had
2. Gotye - the crowd reaction during Somebody I Used To Know was insane. My favorite moment of Coachella was singing the words to that song
3. Dr. Dre/Snoop - great performance, including all the special guests
4. Le Butcherettes - she is just so intense, and I loved how she threw a keyboard into the crowd!
5. The Hives - just a hilarious lead singer, and great music too
6. The Refused - just insane energy, awesome performance all around
7. We Were Promised Jetpacks/Explosions in The Sky - loved both of their sets, somewhat similar sound between them I thought

Coachella 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12.2, 13.2
Outside Lands 10, 11
1. Pulp - The reason I wanted to come to 2012. Jarvis' burlesque during This is Hardcore was so sexy
2. Gotye - Braved the crowd to get up close. After loads of people left after Somebody I used to Know, we were right up front
3. Arctic Monkeys - Great performance
4. The Hives - I loved when the singer told us to put up our middle fingers to tell the sun to fuck off
5. Florence + the Machine - That girl has some pipes!
1: Refused (didn't expect to be so blown away)
2: Pulp (crowd was way more fun than at Radio City Music Hall)
3: Dre & Snoop (like a smorgasboard of classic hip hop songs with so many people I'd never see otherwise)
4: Radiohead (wasn't that close but talk about magnificent)
5: Jeff Mangum (I actually really liked the loud singalong aspect over the quite intimacy of ATP in October. not to mention bringing out horns and the full band ending of Two Headed Boy Pt. 1)
Radiohead
Gary Clark
M. Ward
St. Vincent
Girl Talk
1. GYBE! (Loved hearing Rocket Falls as well)
2. Refused
3. Radiohead
4. Feist
5. Gary Clark Jr.
HM: Wild Flag, Dre & Snoop(left about halfway through), Pulp, EITS, St. Vincent, Beirut
1. Dre/Snoop
2. Radiohead (not a fan, but damn)
3. Jimmy Cliff (never thought I'd see him live, was everything I wanted and more. A lot of artists stick to the music, but his political messages were on point)
4. Flying Lotus (gets better every time I see him)
5. Zeds Dead (just 'cause it was the only heavy electronic show I saw, and I do love me some hard shit)
HM shoutout to DJ Jeremy Sole of KCRW...killin it in the DoLab. Anyone that opens their set with a dubstep/hardstyle remix of "Here I Come" by Barrington Levy deserves a hearty round of applause.
Interesting to see how few people have Dre/Snoop on their top 5 compared to Weekend 1. To anyone who went both weekend, was there a big difference between their Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 performances?
Also, I feel like after Weekend 1 a lot of people were extremely surprised by how great The Hives were and a lot of people were talking about them. I don't see that from the Weekend 2 people, was The Hives set lacking energy or something? Did Pelle not compare himself to the sun?
I think the surprise factor from the hologram and guest appearances was taken out by weekend 1, still thought the W2 performance was amazing though. Made me a proud LA native, and was so fun singing along to every single west coast classic.
didn't think the set was all that good, his voice sounded identical to how it does on his tapes though.
The Hives - "The hives are extremely flammable... We're about to burst into flames and destroy you" (something like that)... glad this set was saved for Sunday
The Vaccines
Radiohead
Pulp
Noel Gallagher - Don't look back in anger was enough to get them on my top 5.
really wish this was live streamed. They definitely were not lacking in energy. Pelle's banter was hilarious and their "freezing" thing during tick tick boom was impressive (lasted much longer than weekend 1)
I have never seen a band do an encore midday before, but i was still expecting them to come out again just based on how long people were applauding.
