Has anyone else heard about Destroid? It's a live dubstep group consisting of Excision, Downlink, and KJ Sawka. It's probably going to be really shitty but I wouldn't be surprised to see them on the polo fields. It's supposed to be a live band like pendulum or the prodigy but we'll see when it actually happens

This is pretty disappointing news. I'm assuming if Fake Blood plays Beyond Wonderland, that rules him out for a set in the Sahara a month later?

The rules of A&R concerning LA proximity and playing other festivals so close to the event? Not one of the Beyond acts from last year played at Coachella, which is pretty telling considering how many cheesy Insomniac staples made it to Indio in 2012.

Ok well lets leave the mystical rules of A&R out of it. 2010 and 2011 also had no common acts between the two festivals. So if you're one to believe history repeats itself, it looks like Theo won't be there. I'd love for that deduction to be wrong.

I don't see really any trap being there this year. MAYBE Flosstradamus, but that will probably be it. 2014, however, the Sahara will be trap central (yikes)

I feel like that will be 2013 though, trap/glitch is rising up and trap is definitely becoming the preferred genre out of the two. Dubstep/Chz house MAY be the night closer for the Sahara, but the daytime Sahara will most likely be trap/ghetto bass. I've just noticed Sahara trends to play the newest hype in the afternoons

You're probably right about that. What I meant was that there probably wont be many (if any) trap exclusive artists (i.e. RL Grime, Bauuer etc.) until 2014

Trance does not qualify as meaningful variety ... same shit, different BPM, heart hands everywhere. In 1999, when trance was arguably at its peak in terms of popularity, this festival gave us Jeff Mills and the Belleville 3. Something of that nature ... that's variety worth rooting for.

Please, trance was nowhere near popular in the US like it was in Europe even in 1999, get the fuck out of here.

Besides, in 1999 BT played live at Coachella, and he was obviously playing trance back then...and yes I know about Movement in Still Life but that didn't come to America until 2000 so that would irrelevant. Banco De Gaia also played as well and BDG had some "trancey" stuff like Last Train to Lhasa.

People slagging off trance due to Castles in the Sky bullshit is similar to people slagging off dubstep these days due to Skrillex and Rusko.

I think it's amusing yet sad at the same time how the definition of progressive house has changed over the past few years.

Sasha, John Digweed, Jimmy van M, Dave Seaman, Slacker, Breeder, Hernan Catttaneo, Nick Warren, and Gat Decor used to be the names to pop up when progressive house came to mind. Now? Fucking Afrojack or Hardwell, when they are anything but.
