^Like when the KROQ Christmas show threw doubts on The Black Keys playing last year remember?
if their drummer is to be believed we might get a new album this year.
Proper FULL length concert appearances.
Plus Keys may have been the Sabbath replacement. Jay-z was also apparently a late replacement.
a very good friend of mine who works in the industry is saying there is a lot of buzz about a Smiths reunion, they are potentially headlining Glasto 13' and could be a headliner for Coachella as well.
Looks like RHCP will be wrapping up their World Tour in South America next year. Sounds like they will finish in the spring. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA yesssssssss
Clearing the schedule for the guests to appear twice
Dre had a profit sharing deal with GV along with Radioohead
A Dre booking could have taken over a year to pull together whereas AEG is the Keys booking agent and could have thrown that deal together in several days.
I cannot fathom GV sitting on the keys for months and months thinking they've booked the best headliner out there.
The headliners two weeks before the announcement were The Black Keys, Black Sabbath, and Radiohead. How do I know? Because I know the headliners in advance every year.
Can't you just go the fuck away, you worthless mindless fuck?
So why was Dre several months into the process of a $250,000 stage effect in mid January while having no touring plans?
10/02/2012 @ 11:49AM: I agree with bumblebee.
Yes. It makes more sense that he spent $250,000 for two 5 minute segments as opposed to building something with plans to take on tour. It even says at the end of the article that they're planning to take it on tour.
Also worth mentioning that the Keys announced in December, 2011 the beginning of their US tour starting in March, and the remainder of their spring US tour dates (with no LA date booked) before the a) lineup announcement and b) cancer announcement. Considering it takes several weeks, if not months, to coordinate a large tour, I highly doubt they threw all of that together last minute because they had been asked to back up Black Sabbath.
lineup and Tony's cancer.
I have trouble thinking Dre could sell his own tour because he'd last toured 12 years
previously and he never stayed onstage for more than 45 minutes or so - ever. Snoop had some shows booked already.
This does bring up the topic of "back up headliners". Especially if they are chasing a
fragile reunion or potential health issues. Coldplay could have snugly fit in the festival if
you shuffled the LA and Vancouver dates. Foo Fighters and Bjork also had both weekends free after both doing south America the week before for Lolla.

Not that I think Deadmau5 will headline but wouldn't two festival dates in South America make him somewhat likely for Coachella?
This was a media story 2 months ago and he's since booked a vegas residency and Lolla Chile. His birthday is in the first week of January. Does this make a Coachella appearance likely or was it just an outburst from someone on the road for too long?
Read this August Tumblr post and decide if you think Deadmau5 is likely for Coachella. Keep in mind he'd be under big pressure to debut a new live show compared to his Vegas/Lolla gigs
