....Well, he sure as hell figured out how to create publicity for their new album that's coming out on Tuesday.
Mumford & Sons popularity has reached new heights selling 600,000 copies of their sophmore album babel... That's 300,000 more than green day and no doubt COMBINED. Ladies and gents I think we have found Fridays headliner
Guess I won't be watching Friday's headliner.
The Rolling Stones - International Noise Conference: Los Angeles - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Austra - Colin Stetson - The Pacific Rim Projekt - The National - Goat Rodeo - Hopscotch 2013- GY!BE - Beirut/Vampire Weekend
no. too soon.
May 22 - Arctic Monkeys @ Ventura Theatre
June 9 - Devo/Gza @ LANHM
June 19 - Zavala @ Soho
July 31 - Flaming Lips @ Pacific Amp.
August 24,25 - FYF fest - State Historic Park
Sept. 22 - M83 w/ Philharmonic @ Hollywood Bowl
Sept. 12 -GY!BE @ the Fonda
Oct. 17 - Atoms for Peace @ SB Bowl
Too soon? tell that to the black keys. This year it'll be m&s playing 1.5 hours with deadmau5 closing main stage
So will Sunday's headliner be a hip hop act...?
upcoming
Bjork doing Biophilia, 6/2 Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles, CA
Outside Lands, 8/9-11 Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA
--almost, almost, almost the real thing
I have a really bad feeling that Mumford will be headlining every American major next year.
Curious on peoples thoughts about putting Stone Roses and Blur as co-headliners one of the nights. Like Kanye/ Strokes. Not sure who goes on last but in theory they could alternate weekends.
AFAIK, those 2 acts never played the same festival-especially the classic Line ups meaning it's a world exclusive. US debut of the full Stone Roses. First US Blur/Coxon show since the 90's?
Between both bands there are 4 guys who have played the festival in the past. Both acts are known to be eyeing US dates in 2013.
While Stone Roses aren't well known stateside, I don't think the booking is anymore obscure than Portishead getting top billing on the initial 2008 lineup announcement.
A Mumford & Sons - Blur Friday sounds reasonable

GV had Portishead as an official headliner for months. Jan 21 - April 8th 2008.
I know some here claim they had Prince locked up from the get go. It's known that GV lost money that year and sales were down before Prince was official.
where did all the rhcp rumorS for 2013 come from? Am I missing something?
RHCP is the new generations Radiohead/Daft Punk
Fuck it: NIN/HTDA/Trent Reznor>IceyHot's sex life
January thru April 29th - The worst time of the year here.
Has someone been reading another thread where this was posted yesterday?:
just kidding...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to come up with that. The only thing that keeps them from being too likely is that GV probably booked the headliners a couple months ago, and I doubt they had any idea how well their album would sell in the states. I wouldn't have thought they could headline until this week.
I think we can bank on a stock-rising, cheaper, kroq band kids like to headline pretty much every year -- it does free up a little money for the rest of the lineup.

If OutKast 2013 doesn't happen, can we at least get André to dress up as jimi hendrix or something?
Some claiming to have inside connection saying one of the booked headliners is disappointing.
AEG connection. 2012 had a conflict with the Rock hall on W1. They have dates in February 2013. Mexico/Vegas are 2 market weirdly missing from their 2011/12 itinerary and could be played between shows/warm-up in April. Technically, it could be a 2013 US exclusive headliner.
Personally, I think it sould only be a booked if another more ambitious booking falls through.
Fuck Mumford & fucking Sons.
PEARL JAM....!!!!!
