But... How To Destroy Angels...
Just gotta ask...where does this No Doubt love come from...if they're a good "Coachella Fit," then the definition of "Coachella Fit" needs serious changing...I'd take a return of any of our recent weakest headliners we've had the last few years...Muse, Killers, Kings Of Leon, hell even Jack Johnson...in a heartbeat over them.
Better yet why is Muse consistently categorized as a weak headliner on this board?
Friday: Blur, Modest Mouse, Lou Reed, Passion Pit, Of Monsters & Men, Divine Fits Japanroids, Alt-J, Jake Bugg, Skinny Lister, FOALS
Saturday: Phoenix, The Postal Service, Dropkick Murphys, Two Door Cinema Club, Franz Ferdinand, Violent Femmes, SMD, Allen Stone, Ben Howard, Vintage Trouble, Reignwolf
Sunday: RHCP, Vampire Weekend, The Faint, Tanlines, Rodriguez, Pretty Lights, La Roux, Tame Impala, Father John Misty, Hanni El Khatib
Andre 3000 is working on his Hendrix movie and by the time that's done he would have to rush to put an album/prepare for a tour by April. Outkast isn't happening......this year.
My picks are
Lady Gaga or Beyonce
MMJ or Phoenix
Some highly respected act
Who do you guys think would be most likely to headline with a successful new album: Phoenix, MGMT, or Vampire Weekend?
Phoenix, because I think they have had the most mainstream radio success so far. As ubiquitous as Vampire Weekend have been, I'm not sure they've even had a top ten single on the alternative or rock charts, much less the pop charts. MGMT seems content to follow their own path at this point, and I think it leads away from headlining spots at festivals.
Not sure if Big Boi is big enough to headline but with a new album on the horizon, could definitely sub headline one night in 2013.

Still hoping for an entire Outkast reunion to headline, but this would still be very rad!
RCHP also in 2007.
another album.... i personally dont think they would be headliners, but w/ names like Phoenix and Vampire Weekend being thrown around, it doesnt hurt to stir the pot a little.
