EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO SUGGESTS DAFT PUNK IN THIS OR ANY OTHER THREAD NEEDS TO DRIVE A RAILROAD SPIKE UP THEIR NOSE WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER.
I'm thinking 2013 is the time for Daft Punk
No I Want to hear daft punk requests one more time
but I legitimately want to see them.
here's the obligatory "The Smiths are rumored to reunite" headline followed by the "The Smiths are not reuniting article"
The Smiths rumoured to be reuniting
The Smiths, the iconic 80s Brit rock/pop band is rumoured to be reuniting. . .or not.Johnny Marr says Smiths are not reuniting
In March, 2006 The Smiths famously acerbic frontman, Morrissey, denied the possibility that the seminal 80s Brit band would reunite about as strenuously as he could possibly could.
I would rather eat my own testicles than reform The Smiths, and thats saying something for a vegetarian, Morrissey said.
Seems now that, in the wake of persistent rumours today that a reunion tour is in the works, guitarist Johnny Marr and drummer Mike Joyce feel the same way.
Joyce publicly denied the reunion and Marr released a statement on his Facebook page confirming that its not happening.
(somebody contemporary who blows up in the next 6 months)
Kinks 50th anniversary reunion
So yeah. I dunno. I made this for fun.
Drake (+ The Weeknd + Lil Wayne?)
Deadmau5 -- Beck -- The Xx
Neil Young and Crazy Horse
Jack White -- Sigur Ros -- Fiona Apple
The Rolling Stones
Phoenix -- D'Angelo --Aphex Twin
Probably so off. But it has stuff I like plus stuff I think they might book. who fucking knows
the only thing i don't think they'd do (with this stupid lineup i've created) is have two classic rock. More like 1 classic rock (hoping Neil Young, not Rolling Stones) and 1 80s to 90s reunion/big group. Like a Smiths, Talking Heads, Somethings. I dunno. Know what I mean?
^^^^ Outsidelands v. 2.0
Do you think GV legitimately asks Daft Punk to play every year?
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Deadmau5 closes main)
Either Outkast or Tool
Either Daft Punk or Vampire Weekend
there's my prediction at least..

Oh shit... now that you mention it, Sigur Ros seems like a lock. Maybe sub-headliner, but still.
Fiona Apple is also a good call if she's still touring then.
Can Outkast really headline? Beastie Boys would be killer. I'd sign off for either or both.
Throw my name in the Pearl Jam hat as well.
Fuck... I'm already getting excited. Screw you guys. I need a week off before I start thinking too much about 2013.
Sigur Ros would be the freaking cherry on top.
Also I get a lady boner at the thought of Fiona Apple playing.
I really feel like they have to get Sigur and Fionaaaa please. I just need both of those sets on the fields preferably Outdoor sunset and/or later.
I also really want Joanna Newsom but I feel like if they haven't gotten her yet why would they get her now
I also want a bunch of reunions that would probably never happen ie: Replacements, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, Smiths, Kinks. But yeah. Maybe.
Led Zeppelin? Black Sabbath? I dig that these names are being thrown around at least, because I dunno if I'd ever (personally) go see them live and pay exorbitant amounts of money for good tickets. But I would LOVE to see them close out a night of chella.
Here are a couple of headliners I'd actually care about:
Daft Punk - I will get it out of the way, but yeah, would love them, but if there's no new material, I'd rather not. I would not want the memories of their 2006 appearence (I wasn't there, but went to the LA Sports Arena show the next year) soiled for those who saw that historic show, or repeated verbatum.
Beastie Boys - A post-cancer come back show would be AWESOME. However, Yauch wasn't at the recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame show at all, so I don't know what that means (as they are one of my favorite groups of all time, I'd rather not think of the negative connotations there.)
Rolling Stones - I highly doubt this will happen, but I'd sure like to a) be surprised by it actually happening, and b) because I would see this, no matter what is going on on the other stages, without question.
Other than these, and Depeche Mode, and baring David Bowie or a Smiths reunion (ha!), whomever is headlining doesn't really matter to me.
friday-red hot chili peppers
saturday- neil young,kid cudi
sunday- rolling stones/roger waters
Tool will be the first 3 time headliner, granted that their new album is done in time, which it should be.
2013: Tool first three time Headliner.
Tool will actually just skip SoCal again on their next tour.
