Omnibus 2013 Headliner Speculation and Argument Thread

Muse- with a new album coming out I would definitely put them atop the list of potential headliners (its not like 3 years is that soon, and this time they'd close out the night, without tiesto closing behind them.)

Depeche Mode- I would killll to see them but I'm curious about the rumor that they didn't enjoy headlining 7 years back. Can someone site the source?

Pearl Jam- I like the 20 years coming home to polo fields idea

I'd put money on 2/3 subheadliners being 2 of the 6: phoenix, jack white, the Weeknd, Beck, MIA, or Sigur Ros.

I also wouldn't rule out Bon Iver headlining. If they come out with another album within the year, they would be the black keys for 2013.

I haven't been following this thread but anyone else think Jack White won't headline until the Stripes come back? I could see him 2nd line status, closing the Outdoor against No Doubt perhaps. I'd much prefer that, having seen ND already.

I don't see what's wrong with Coldplay. I don't think we'll get them next year seeing it'll be pretty late in their album cycle but with their post-Britpop sound they have more in common with the Coachella "brand" than pop-punk Green Day.

OutKast, Daft Punk, Beyonce/Gaga, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, No Doubt, these are the same names from last year's thread with the addition of Green Day thanks to that OC Register article. But in reality, nobody guessed three of the four slated headliners last year...Sabbath and Dre weren't on anybody's radars, and nobody thought there would be a Black Keys repeat. For the first time ever, I'm just not even going to try to predict the headliners.

I would love to see TEED at Coachella! And Hot Chip again would be cool.
