For Next Year - Weekend 1 or Weekend 2

Week 1 advantages: cooler weather, surprise guests. Cons: conflicts, no chance to watch webcast or check out sets you later heard were awesome.

Week 2 advantages: get to watch week1 sets on webcast so you can help mitigate conflicts and know which sets to check out. Cons: "surprise" guests and gimmicks are all well known. crazy heat (102-105-106 per weather.com).

Weather shouldn't factor into your decision. It could have been the reverse. No way of predicting that.

weekend 1, for sure. surprises, plus better field conditions, plus having the off weekend be AFTER the fun weekend rather than having that first weekend be the weekend of pining.

We'll have to see... Will edit response, ONCE I SEE THE SHOW. LOL

But right now, I love how watching a few streams, read reviews, etc. has solidified my schedule. I am dialed in better than ever before. We'll see about the field conditions. Weather is not a concern.

Might be a few surprises for us as well with it now being 'closing weekend'... Hoping for Radiohead to add HTDC. Nice.

if you knew who the surprise guests were wouldn't that HELP sway your decision on who you wanted to see if their was some kind of conflict. knowing who the guests are actually helps.

Definitely still weekend 1. The week (who am I kidding? THE MONTH) before going seems like an eternity, it'd be 100x worse for the festival to be happening the first time around while I'm still waiting to go.
