I'm planning on wearing a sequin fanny pack , hopefully I can find one that says "I <3 Bingo" or "Las Vegas". oooh maybe I can find a "Palm Springs" fanny pack. Maybe I will have to make one. Then I am going to wear this with a "Fuck Rehab" shirt (found on perezhilton.com) and perhaps jelly shoes, but they would be uncomfortable all day long. Might have to sport cons or glittered out keds. On the bottom, it has to be a circle skirt, maybe some bike shorts underneath if I end up being pushed unwillingly into a pit, or for dancing like a fool at Peaches. Gold lame' bike shorts would be great. Maybe I should wear a tutu instead of the circle skirt. Giant sized Nicole Ritchie sunglasses are a must. I am undecided about the hat...maybe a sombrero? Help me!

    What I brought last year:

t-shirt, jeans/shorts(separate days), a backpack, a light jacket, plenty of extra cash, sunblock, hand sanitizer, tissues for toilet paper, and a big, heaping, fudge covered, caramel dipped emotion of excitement!

    1. dalaners: i was twelve at my first coachella. i went with my dad, and i had fun. but i was mega-tired and remember sleeping in front of the main stage during beck. he woke me up for "loser." so if shes with an adult, shell probably have a good time, but dont expect her to appreciate it as much as she could in a few years.

    2. if you want to buy a shirt/bring a heavy jacket/whatever, but dont want to carry it around, my friends and i came up with a solution last year. just drop the offending item off at lost & found and pick it up later in the night. its a little bit risky, but its SO nice not to have to lug unnecessary stuff around all day!

the gold powder is key! for men at least.

Someone suggested shower sandals to me.

a cheap pair of flip-flops to wear in the shower so your feet aren't touching the grimy floor people have been walking on all day.

A collapsable bucket is always useful for the campsite.
I took two to Leeds Carling Weekend and they were godsends.

We kept fetching water back to wash with / drink / throw about..
And the second was a portable loo for us girlies who didn't want to brave the smelly loos or be bothered to walk to them in the dark..

    Ooooh.
water pistols ( colourful, not gun looking.. might scare a few people.. ) and water bombs are a good addition to your checklists..

Fun ! And in the heat I can imagine to be very refreshing. bring lots!

Did they ever get mixed up?

Yea was wondering about a lock for the tent. We'll have pasports and plane tickets in it. Would a padlock just draw attention or what?

I'd carry around your passport on your body. Don't risk leaving it in your tent. And ask the airlines for an E-ticket so you don't have to worry about losing a paper ticket.

    5. arrive early
    6. book hotel early
    7. Shower
    8. eat
    9. leave the alcohol till afterwards, the sun will kill you
    10. buy the t shirts you want early (they sell out at night and the lines are very long)
    11. expect to wait in the morning at the entrance gate in long slow moving lines.
    12. don't try to smuggle crazy ass drugs in there, why lax, they do escort people out from time to time, that would be a bummer of a weekend.
    13. don't "push your way" up front. If there is an artist you want to see, get to that stage while the artist before is still on and wait it out, you just may see something else you like too.
    14. Don't stare at celebs - they are 9 times out of 10, not worth it.
    15. move around to the different stage see as much as possible
    16. Know that you WILL miss some acts you wanna see.
    17. Expect LOTS of traffic to and from festival grounds
    18. buy 3 day pass as early ASAP
    19. If you buy only one day, Sunday and Friday will be the first to go I think.
    20. Condoms
    21. Stay clear of the beer gardens, they are well away from the stages and over-priced, and boring, you will be missing out on fun.
    22. sleep
    23. print out a set times schedule - keep it in your pocket (they will have schedules there, but don't spend forever looking for one)
    24. Plan any tent signings early, and prepare to wait for your favorite, but don't go nuts at the signing tent, you'll miss lots.
    25. Bring cash

We did this last year and everything was fine, we didn't leave anything real valuable inside just sleeping bags and stuff. I think just having one on will deter any would be theives to those tents that don't require a slashing. I have actually never heard of any theft problems at coachella so that is pretty coll, plus there is security in the campground during the day and everybody else is at the show.

one quick squeeze and let the cool times roll. And they're only about a buck.

quick question, i am a newbie, could not get answers anywhere else in the forum. girlfriend and i might buy a tent for $50. it is 13'x10'x6'. is that too excessive? seems like everyone is bringing 7x7 tents for two people. our tent seems fine though. need advice. thanks

I think it needs to be 100 square feet (or under) for 2 people. Yours would be 130. Is that right, PF?

yeah, dumb measurements confuse me, the FAQ page says 7x7 for one person (50sq ft) and add an additional 7x7 for every person. so i don't know if that meant it could actually be 14x14 or 100sq ft (which is 10x10). someone help. i am confused.
