Can I camp without having a car?

I know it's REALLY early to talk about and plan for Coachella, but I'm planning on going with my friend in 2014.

I live in Wisconsin and plan on either doing the travel package or just taking a cab to the actual site and pitching a tent. What would you recommend?

I only saw information about camping with your car. Since we a re from out of state, we obviously won't have a car with us.

Also, I saw that the pre-sale tickets are going out tomorrow, May 20. Do I need to decide what we are going to do by the time we pay for the tickets, or can we wait and pay for it separately at a different time?

Most desirable camp spots are located in thickly wooded areas, hardly reversible by car.

Obviously...since no one from outside of CA owns a car, and we would never allow anyone to rent one without a valid CA drivers' license...

If I'm not mistaken there is also tent camping available. For about $85 you can get a 10x15 space to pitch a tent on. I got this info from the website.

Also, do I have to pay for that camping when I pay for the tickets?

car camping and tent camping are separate. Though the year I did the tent camping thing, the ground was pretty awful for it. But then I can't handle even car camping.. much like Murtagh... I'm getting too old for that shit...

You will have to pay for camping and tickets at the same time (though with the presale it's always been a payment plan, so you won't have to pay for the full amount up front)

And presales don't go out tomorrow... it's just an announcement... which will likely include the pre-sale date (which will likely be within the week)

Yeah, you're right. There's absolutely no info about tent camping on the coachella site.
