My wife's pepper spray, which I didn't even realize was in the car, was confiscated during the search to enter the campgrounds. This was at 10:45 A.M. Thursday morning for what it's worth.

Thread by thread I'm beginning to see what it is that made my 9th year seem so much different than previous years. The idea of needing pepper spray at the festival, or having tent stakes confiscated because they could be used as weapons, and at least 2, if not 3 pat downs a day, are things I would have never expected to have to deal with at Coachella... And while Coachella has always had to roll with the growing pains of being popular, it shouldn't have to suffer because "the real world" decided to jump on it's bandwagon. Fuck that. People spend a shit ton of money to spend those 3-4 days away from the real world and all it's bullshit.

If you ask most veterans of this festival about previous violence at the fest, most will tell you they've never seen a fight, let alone a stabbing. And now, thanks to some wanna be bad ass fucktards, the reasoning behind shit like tent stakes being taken away gets more fire behind it...
