Weekend 2 I went back again, and I had to sit outside and wait for my friend to come out with my wristband. While I sat and chatted with this rollypoly security guy, he told me what was up. It might have been BS, but I sure believed it. I told him that him, and his team were being EXTREMELY nice to me, and I couldn't figure out their angle. He looked at me and smiled, said I looked dehydrated and gave me a bottle of water.

He then told me that the guys in yellow shirts outside the venue, controlling access into the camp grounds are not "STAFFPRO" that they HATE YOU and want to ruin your good time. He went on to mention that they would not be around in 2013, since Coachella was giving his security company the full concert and firing Staff Pro. Told me how they would post on Craigslist ads saying "Want to attend Coachella for free? Join Staff Pro today!" and you can buy their shirts online.

The whole time he kept yelling at campers walking in with beers "HEY! YOU DONT HAVE TO THROW THAT AWAY OR CHUG IT! YOU CAN DRINK IT AND CARRY IT IN, UNTIL YOU ENTER THE VENUE!"

When my friend arrived with my pass, he went to get it for me, put it on my wrist for me, and escorted me through security without patting me down (despite my opening my bag and offering it to him to check).

I really hope what he says is true, because I sure felt it was. Anyone I met workign security in the camps was awesome and friendly as hell. But the security guys in the venue were the same assholes as always.

I hope that's true. While I didn't have any real trouble with the yellow jackets working the shuttle stop, they were doing very thorough searches (yes, I did have my balls cupped) and it slowed down getting in quite a bit, and they weren't very friendly. Kind of killed the "YAY we're at Coachella mood". The guys working the closer checkpoint were much nicer and efficient and got people through with no issues.

I've been to SF Outside Lands, Treasure Island, Lollapalooza, Ozzfest, Coachella, Burning Man, etc, etc....

Coachella is my favorite (Not counting Burning Man). And it's also the one I hate the most, because of the incredible stress of entering the festival and dealing with security.

All other festivals I just walk in off the street, no one touches me or hassles me.

^Agreed, Coachella's security is by far the most strict at times but also the worst and most disorganized at others, I'm really hoping they don't use StaffPRO, it's really irresponsible and cheap to give authority to anybody who as access to Craigslist. It's the horror stories about security guards taking advantage of their arbitrary and temporary power that really implies how greedy and cold Goldenvoice and the parent companies can be.

i think you guys have it backwards. staff pro were wearing blue shirts (the nice guys), CSC Staffing were wearing the yellow shirts (the fuckers). i cannot recall a single good experience with CSC Staffing at any event I've been to with them.

Staff Pro are idiots too. They constantly thought my camera (which is a fucking point and shoot) was some heavy duty pro camera, and kept calling their "supervisors" over to me. Fuck that.

90 percent of security was totally cool. the other 10 percent were the young fucks at check-in at the festival gates who like to juggle my nuts looking to see if im carrying something. they are the front line guys and always think they know more when they dont know shit. they totally copped a feel!

the main crew was totally fine. cops and bike security were very cool with everything.

We got an unlucky car search line. This dude comes up with his switchblade saying "I'm ready to cut some wristbands!" and then proceeds to tell us he can smell weed and he'll cut our wristbands if we don't give it up before they find it. Ended up losing half of our shit which I'm sure they sold.

So the scale tipped for me on security on Sunday. I go up dude tells me to empty pockets, open backpack, and turn around. FIRST thing he does is uppercut my balls and ass. I'm immediately startled so I turn and say "you gotta buy me a drink before you do all that!" he responds "what are you hiding you got drugs on you?" I say fuck no I just don't like my nuts getting punched by a fucking stranger. He then proceeds to look into every nook and cranny of my backpack and wallet. Then he tells me to turn around again so I could get searched again. I told him no I'm going in. So then this supervisor comes up and tells the dude you're not checking him again. She allows me to go thru but not before I gave her my thoughts on that d bag security. The dude waiting to get checked behind me got the same guy and immediately told him "hey bro you need to fucking relax people are hear to have fun and listen to music not get drugged out. If you treat me the same you'll have a big problem. That dude you checked right now was really patient with you.

The rest of the day I was allowed to walk thru very quickly. Apparently they had a talk with that dude and some other fuck that were acting like dicks. That shit really pissed me off. Fuck staffpro for hiring dumbasses like these guys.
