Thread: Car Camping Exit

  1. #1

    Default Car Camping Exit

Myself and a few friends are traveling to Las Vegas straight from Coachella on Monday morning.

I was just wondering what the process is for leaving in the morning. Is there a certain time vehicles are allowed to leave? (Monday morning). Do lots get emptied in order? How long does it take?

Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Was told morning car camping departures allowed before noon, but you have to get a security escort for car camping departure after noon.

Sounds like you can leave anytime Monday morning, it just has to be before noon. We got up at 7, and just drove out at 8...no specific order, just whenever people wake up, pack up and leave. I couldn't find any specific hours on the site, but my friend said if you wanted to leave Sunday night, you have to leave before the last act is over or else you have to wait until 3am or something (to let all the normal traffic out). I can't find that on the site so don't quote me though.

Yea, on Sunday night, the cutoff time to leave anytime you want was at 10 pm. After that, you have to wait till 2:00 AM before they let anyone out of the car camping lot. You can pack early and drive your car to the exits and wait to get out a little faster during the time between 10 pm and 2 am, but that's about it.

The traffic seemed pretty bad leaving from lot 10 this morning until around 10 o'clock I believe. Also sunday night traffic after the show ended looked pretty terrible as well. We left the campgrounds around 11 or so this morning and it was smooth sailing.

I just got back from car camping bullshit this past weekend. We had to wait 2 hours until finally at 2am they let everyone out. The rules are You CAN NOT leave car camping anytime between 10pm and 2am on Sunday night. The reason is because all of the cars leaving would criss-cross with all of the pedestrians that are walking out to go to day parking.

Then after that everyone needs to be out by 12pm on Monday.
