3. Black Angles for the fucking best rock show I think I've ever seen
4. Radiohead for blowing me away and turning me into an obsessed fan
5. Modeselektor for making me forget that there was anyone else in the tent and making me go berserk, I must have looked like I was going into a seizure during Kill Bill Vol. 4
HM: Explosions in the Sky, Andrew Bird, St. Vincent was tied with Radiohead but lost in the alphabetical arena, Flying Lotus, GIRLS, Sean Kuti and the Egypt 80, Radiohead was originally up there but I forgot about Beirut somehow, it's unreal how many of these acts I saw in three days

What an awesome weekend! I'm still trying to wrap my mind around everything that happened. Wish I could afford to do it again in a totally different way. I'm envious of all you bastards that are double dipping.
My top 5 would have to go to (though this could change upon further reflection)...
1. Radiohead

1. The Shins: I had a lot emotionally invested in their music, and it all came to a head Friday Night
2. Madeon: Kid has PHENOMENAL potential, if he keeps his head on straight he's going to be huge
3. tune-yards: Watching the construction of the loops was amazing, especially the stranger and more complex ones, and then that AHA! moment once the song clicked.
4. At the Drive In: Cedrick was amazing, and the energy in the crowd was higher than anything, even Refused
5. Justice: Despite all the imperfections, Justice merged all their music together in a a 40-minute set, silencing the critics of Audio, Video, Disco.
Honorable Mention:
Refused
The Sheepdogs
Flying Lotus

In chronological order: Pulp, M83, Bon Iver, Radiohead, Wild Flag.
I'll also admit having a stupid, fun time at Girl Talk. Mangum was an incredible set marred by audience jackassery.
1. Radiohead: My favorite band since I was 8. Im 18 now and it was my first time seeing them live. I was way in the front and it was magical.
2. Bon Iver: I thought it was just gonna be Justin Vernon with a guitar playing. I didn't do too much research on their live shows so I was amazed. The whole crowd singing along with the wolves was pretty awesoe too.
3. Grouplove: I was very front and center singing along with every song. They are so good and fun live. If you like their album watch their set they put on a great show. and getting my grouplove shirt signed after the set was an added bonus.
4. Justice: Sad their set was cut short but im a total justice fanboy. I freaked out as soon as the cross lit up.
5. The Head and the Heart: I wasn't really looking forward to this set but my friend really wanted to see them. They are really good live. The girl in the band killed it on her solo in the last song.
Honorable Mentions: The Shins (If they played Caring is Creepy they would be in the top 5) Andrew Bird, Jeff Mangum, arctic Monkeys, Pulp (I think I was the only one under the age of 25 - 30 at that set)
In order...
1. Dre & Snoop (by a million miles)
2. Flying Lotus
3. Radiohead
4. M83
5. Kaskade (Shutup. I had a blast so whatever)
Honorable mentions: Beats Antique, Bon Iver, DJ Shadow, and the Lucent Dossier Experience in the DoLab (never caught the LDE before and shit was a TRIP!!)

5.) Bon Iver (best "big" live sound)

1. Dre/Snoop - killed my expectations
2. Jeff Mangum - pretty much perfect
3. Radiohead - whoever was upset with this set either 1.) saw a better RH show before, or 2.) is not a fan of RH.
4. Flying Lotus - he's on another level...
5. At the Drive-In - the crowd where I ended up almost ruined this for me, but fuck.. NAPOLEON SOLO?! Loved it.
(Looking at this all lined up, I am in almost disbelief that I got to see all these acts, plus so much more, over the course of a weekend. 2012>2011>2010...)

everyone cleared out of gotye after somebody i used to know. so dumb. and there were too many dumbfucks talking during jeff mangum for me to really enjoy it, and from where i was standing at godspeed there was some sound bleed going on. i really wanted to like both of their sets, but i'm glad i got to see both at their own shows, which they were amazing at. now i need to see refused!
