To be fair... I can't think of any DJ that I would pay $70 to see... that said, I also wouldn't go to a gig that's solely Kaskade if someone paid ME $70. Last time I saw him was when they added him to the bill for Kylie at the Bowl and it was pretty damned awful...

I paid 10 and it was worth it. I brushed off Kaskade aside for a few years but his set Sat night at It'll Do in Dallas was so worth it for non-commercial rubbish.

Damn that looks crazy. I saw Kaskade yesterday in Vegas at Marquee dayclub - he was actually significantly worse than the house DJ (wtf), but he was playing in SF until 4am the night before so I'll write it off as exhaustion

he certainly did not....year old mashups of overplayed songs, nicky romero and tommy trash songs left and right. it was disastrous. doesnt even play his original songs, just puts the acapella over some garbage song that every other DJ plays

Saw his set at Memorial in downtown Sac last night, cheese, lame outro/intro mixing, mashups done before the show (and probably used every night of the tour), I was pretty disappointed. I couldn't go to his after party set at District 30 because I had to drive down to San Jose for work this morning, but some friends of mine went and said the same thing, not a single commercial track, very very limited vocals, mostly all deep house. I really wish I coulda gone to that and I'm glad he hasn't lost complete sight of good music.

They are the epitome of "run-of-the-mill pop DJ's". Good for Kaskade if he still plays deep house in smaller venues, but people know him for playing the same type of cheesy shit every other pop DJ plays. Remember when Calvin Harris actually performed live and played nu disco? No? No one else does either because all he is famous for is producing shitty music for pop singers.

And Calvin Harris made a conscious choice to go that route a while back... And in venues where he COULD get away with being more eclectic, he still chooses straight up generic cheese...

It's too bad.. I really liked the first two albums (well there were some stinkers on the second)... his live show was fun... and he was on a trajectory where he could have still been producing for pop stars while keeping his own little quirks... but instead decided to skip a couple years of work and just make super generic SHM sounding bullshit... Sure, he's laughing all the way to the bank... but I'll never have interest in seeing him again.

Funny how Kaskade doesn't play any of the songs off his last album, just mashes up the vocals with the flavor of the week commerical "banger".
