Default Thank you for booking all the teeny bopper DJs.

The crowds at everything but M83 were awesome since the Sahara was packed all day long. We were able to walk to the front of Pulp, Refused, Mazzy Star, Atari Teenage Riot, Explosions in the Sky, and EMA without difficulty. All of the stages are generally half-packed or less. The "band" crowds seem to be skewed towards the older attendees, so it's a very segregated experience.

Good news for me! Haha. Guess I'll be a lone 18 year-old in the "older crowd" then. More room, better spot, and I won't have to deal with people who don't appreciate good music like Pulp, Refused, and Mazzy Star.

Maybe... But hey I'm just agreeing with the OP. dorkfish said that these artists were attacting mainly older attendees. Which is bullshit. They're great. But hey, if people don't see the greatness of these bands, no skin off my nose. Good news to me.

this could be argued for the 2nd day as well. Most of the acts I wanted to see I was able to just walk right up and snag a great spot (Radiohead and Bon Iver included funny enough).

Last night, minutes before Radiohead was starting, you could easily walk up to the front of the main stage soundboard. The crowd got larger as they started, but it was odd to see such a thin crowd waiting for Radiohead.

Godspeed was maybe 1/4 full halfway through the show.

I agree with this post 100% -- it seemed that the douche-concentration was primarily focused in the general area of the Sahara. I walked into the Sahara once and then left...most of my time was spent in the Mojave this year.

I had this exact thought. It's like there's two totally separate festivals going on at the same time.

I noticed this for DJ SHADOW and Modeselektor but thought maybe people were at Justice or waiting for Dr Dre and Snoop.

I was not expecting to have so much room for Atari Teenage Riot. It was great.
