GIRLS were really good. The crowd was great, with people singing along but not overbearingly. The slight rain and wind complimented them well, and the backup singers were awesome. Unfortunate I had to miss Death Grips but I left happy.

for those of you that saw m83... im anticipating a ridiculously overcrowded mojave; how hard was it exactly to even get in there? im thinking of seeing the rapture just to be in the damn tent when m83 comes on...

There was a pretty sizable switch over between the two sets... but if you want up close you should see Rapture, they're killer anyway

Arctic Monkeys were the best. the Rapture killed it too

    My faves from the streams:

    Refused
    Pulp
    Gary Clark Jr.
    Jimmy Cliff

Madness was fun, too. I remember seeing them WAY back in the day, and damn they were TERRIBLE live (at least the set I saw), so I had to laugh about how they'd improved their musicianship over the past few decades.

I was looking forward to M83, but their set just left me kinda meh - maybe it was one of those had to be there things that didn't translate well without being in the energy of the crowd? And Amon Tobin's set looked stunning visually, but was just deadly dull musically. But they did cut the stream off early, so maybe something more interesting happened afterward.

Based from just watching the streams, I was very disappointed with Jimmy Cliff. He was a highly anticipated set for me, however, the crowd just seemed to never connect with him.

Looking for some elaboration from those who said it was awesome because it didnt really strike home for me. and I didn't even see him play Guns of Brixton! Might have missed it though as I was flipping through the three channels.

Still torn on seeing M83 or The Keys... Also between Arctic Monkeys and Madeon... Finally I am clueless if I should skip Miike Snow in favor of camping out for Radiohead...

The Rapture and Black Keys were my two favorites on day 1. The Rapture were surprisingly GREAT.

-I LOVE me some frank, but hes a singer and the mic kept f*king up so it was pretty lame, and then it ended -____-

Grouplove put on an amazingly good set, just as much fun live as it is hearing the album.

Gary Clark Jr., no question. I was on the front rail and the number of photographers in the pit was astounding, as was the number who stayed once they'd gotten their shots. Just sick. the sheepish hint of a grin on his face as he saw how the crowd reacted to the first few bars of "Bright Lights" was worth it.

And this is EXACTLY why the EDM headliners this year are compiled of trash.

I have to go with death grips. I wasn't crazy about their music prior to seeing them, but that set was a blast.

    October 20 - Mastodon
    October 23 - 26 - Housecore Horror Festival

Refused was easily my favorite of the day, and possibly my favorite of the entire festival. Sounded great, amazing energy, killer audience. And unlike a lot of "reunion" shows, the band members all seemed genuinely stoked to be there. Great time. Honorable mentions go to Death Grips, Neon Indian, Wu Lyf and Pulp.
