Every person I know who has been going every year for the past 5+ years all bought weekend one tickets on layaway right when that option was available.

I bought Weekend 2 tickets on layaway back in June 2011 right when they went on sale. And I've been going to Coachella since 2007.

a) I knew everyone I know wouldn't secure their tickets for the most easily sold out version of the show

b) 4/20 fucking weekend at Coachella are you kidding me :P

It rained. Bands played. Fun was had. End of story. Something unique and I'm glad I was able to be prepared with a pair of pants and a sweater. Advice to weekend two, if the forcast calls for wind and rain bring extra clothes because it will be shit balls cold and you will end up paying $55 for a sweater at 6pm. Stoked for today though! Coachella rain or shine!

I gotta be honest... I opted to go to Weekend 2 because I've gotten sick of all the people who go to Coachella just to say they went and it felt to me like Weekend 1 would have a lot of those.

I'm not talking about the majority of board members here (and obviously not talking about the kids who get to go both weekends whom I'm jealous of)... I'm talking about the jackasses who run around holding hands in a chain wearing whatever the ubertrend is of the moment, talking through sets.

Part of me is bemused by the crappy weather today because a) scalpers (hopefully) lost money when trying to scalp the rest of the tickets they had in hand, and b) the dorks mentioned in the paragraph above are shivering because I can guarantee they didn't bother to check the weather report in advance.

However, I'm not happy about the fact that the aforementioned bulk of board members might have become cold and wet.

Oh, and the grass will be crappier than it was going to be for us Weekend 2 lot.

Wrong. Maybe all 5 people you know did this. I've been going since 2004 and bought my tix for weekend 2 for various reasons as did the rest of my group that is 10 deep this year who for the most part have all attended since 2007.

Yeah pretty much. It drizzled here and there but it really didn't effect anything. The cold was unusual, esp with the wind, and I was shivering pretty hard at the Black Keys and after, despite having a jacket, a thick shirt, and a football jersey on at the same time.. In the tents with the crowds it was much more bearable.
