Coachella & Electronic Music

My favorite aspect about Coachella is the tremendous variety of music spanning so many genres and styles! I feel like it's not only a festival for me to enjoy what I already love, but also the chance check out bands and performers I may not otherwise discover or see live.

With that said, I'm just curious about how you guys feel about the inclusion and rise of dance music artists/DJs at this festival over the years. Last year was actually my first time and by and large I felt Coachella's community was very accepting of EDM, our culture, and I felt very welcome there! However, I did overhear and notice some resentment against "rave music" and how it shouldn't be at the festival.

What are your feelings?

Also, a quick journalism note, you should usually specify about who you are including when you use the term "our" as a possessor. Designating ownership over something is usually a tepidly perilous endeavor.

Well I saw the lineup of course and a few of the topics on here! I'll be there the second weekend and I'm just trying to get a general sense of people's attitudes here regarding how the festival has evolved.

There were just as many EDM artists last year as this year. Look at Coachella's past lineups.

Yeah I was there last year at Sahara when Paul McCartney was raging on stage with Afrojack! As a huge fan myself, I loved knowing that a Beatle loves this weird and energetic music.

It's not an offensive thing. I am literally giving you advice as to how journalism and figuring out things and learning works. Do some research if you're interested in learning certain things about a certain place, experience, and source of information.
