Festival pet peeves

I have no pet peeves at festivals. I spend a lot of money to have a great time while I'm there so why would I let what other people do bother me?

But with that said, the beer garden at Chella pisses me off. I don't do drugs anymore so I like to drink a lot while I'm there, and spending time in the beer garden forces me to miss acts. Last year I poured beer in a water bottle and put it in my little backpack and was able to sneak some out. But a beer just isn't as good when you're drinking it from a water bottle.

I snuck in a disposable flask filled with vodka on Friday this year. But I got so fucked up that I lost it.

I have only seen this at Coachella...Kids sitting on the ground in the middle of the "pit" (not really a pit but that area)...I don't know wtf these kids were doing but I will seriously kick anyone doing this if I see it again. This was during the set. So annoying.

When waiting for Radiohead on the main stage for six hours, I sat down between sets. Hope that is alright

At the Shoegaze festival at the Echoplex a couple weeks ago kroqken was planted against the stage for 8 hours even thought he place was at 1/4 capacity and everybody was moving away from the stage between sets. It was charming.

I had never heard of Jeff Mangum or Neutral Milk Hotel before this festival, but his set was dope; I'm truly glad I was there for that.

I had issues with chicks blowing bubbles at Beirut. But Beirut made me feel better about it.

Drunk people in crowds. Especially events like coachella where you have to drink before you go in or stay in the beer garden. This just makes people try and drink faster and get completely wasted earlier in the day. Not a fan.


Oh and also losing my chapstick. I do it every year. And leaving my spare in the car to melt. So sad.

I will repeat this, sorry, but at WS 99 two dudes went to the overflow of the porta poties and covered themselves with literal shit and walked from the back of the show to the front. lol who actually does that? i love radiohead and wanted to see them up close so i just showed up right when the shins were finishing up and me and the gf were like 6 rows back in a perfect spot without having to be dicks who push through or anything

how do you know they are straight out of prison? did you speak with them? did someone inform you of this? or did you just judge them based on how they look and/or how they acted?

I had el wire on my backpack last year and two chicks wouldn't stop playing with it and asking for me to give them a show while I was at FlyLo. I just gave them the el wire and moved up a few feet.
