I was staying at Morongo (an Indian Casino near Coachella) years ago, and there was a rain storm with unbelievable, hurricane-like winds. I'm not saying that'll happen this weekend, but I do suggest you prepare for the worst.

Nope. It doesn't rain there. Ever.

Why is it that everyone's worried about the 50% chance of light showers, and no one is discussing the wind gusts of up to 50MPH?

The latter is what could truly ruin a festival.

I am not one to complain about new members and posting repetitive threads. But I must say it is really annoying. The 2 posts above me are still ok with it seeing as you are new members as well. You can still respond nicely and you don't find it redundant. After you spend more time on the boards it will get to you. Especially because the search button is really easy to use.

The time spent typing out a complaint about people not reading other threads could just as easily answer the persons' question.

The rain chance is down to 30% now, and all I see is wind at 17mph. At the rate the forecast keeps changing, it'll be sunny and 90 in a few days.

Since you can go in and out of the festival, I suggest you bring stuff just in case it's windy and / or rainy. Better to have and not need, than to need and not have.

But imagine answering the same question over and over again and seeing the same questions over and over again. Its like your grandma with alzheimers who doesn't remember anything, asking the same questions over and over. The only difference is these people aren't your grandma so the love and patience is not there.

Dude don't be idealistic about a messageboard. You're dealing with human beings here, they're not going to read the FAQ or search for previous threads first. Get used to it if you want to live on a messageboard.

".. west winds will gust to around 50 mph at times."

Winds... areas of west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph.

    * Timing... strongest winds during the late afternoon through late
    evening hours each day.

    * Location... strongest winds near ridge tops... along Desert
Mountain slopes... and adjacent desert areas.

    * Visibility... in the deserts... areas of blowing dust and sand
could locally reduce visibility to near zero at times.

    * Impacts... the winds will make driving difficult... especially for
motorists with high profile vehicles. Watch for broken tree
    limbs and downed power lines.

    * Outlook... periods of stronger and gusty west winds are expected
for late Thursday through early Saturday as a second low
pressure system moves slowly inland through Southern California.

    Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
    profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

I never really got why people get so violent about duplicate threads.
Many of the regulars here feel like they're forced to read every single one, like every thread is directed at them personally.

Well shucks, its a good thing I don't live on a message board. Thanks for the major insight! I had no idea I was dealing with human beings.

Listen up you absolute fucks. This "people won't the FAQs so don't even bother encouraging them to" is the biggest piece of garbage I've ever read.

People used to read the FAQs. I know. It's gotten progressively worse on here. But I guess since you just joined this message board this month, you are indelibly qualified to speak to its absolute truths and consistencies?
