Default Cooler: Ice vs Dry Ice

So we're bringing a cooler into car-camping, and was wondering on opinions of regular ice versus dry ice. How long would dry ice last if we bought it Thursday morning and drove down 8-9 hours into Coachella? If we buy dry ice, do we even need regular ice?

Hard to search for short common words but if you scroll down to bottom of page you'll see similar threads listed.

Instead of wasting energy telling you to look elsewhere, I'll go ahead and actually try being helpful: 5 lbs. of dry ice should last you 24 hours.
