But everyone must discuss all concerts in the same thread! If you want to see if anyone else is going, just spend a half hour reading thousands of irrelevant posts in hope of finding the appropriate one, if it exists!

But seriously, major LA-area shows usually warrant their own thread, while shows in other markets or more obscure acts should go in one big thread.

i'm sorry but mew at the fonda is hardly a major la-area show. we're not talking radiohead at the greek here.

they did play two or three good songs tho.

I saw Mew the other night at the Fillmore.
It was an absolute trainwreck.
Boy they sucked.

I would have rather listened to Yablo drone on about his portable dishwasher for an entire evening

they got boring really fast. and they do sound like

I thought Mew was awesome...Oh No, Oh My kinda blew but whatever. I talked to the merch people about why Mew was not playing Coachella and they said that they were supposed to play Coachella but didn't have enough money to keep the tour going until the end of April and keep the band in California. Basically, someone in charge of their tour fucked up and they're missing out on playing Coachella, which would have definetly helped make them in the U.S.

I thought Bakersfield is full of honky tonks. When former Mayor Richard Riordan called Bakersfield boring on a radio show, he was forced to spend a day there.

No way, Bakersfield is cool as shit. They have their own Henry Fonda theatre where a bunch of awesome bands play unannounced shows on their off-nights. I don't like Mew, but I heard they tore it up in Bakersfield.
