How bad is traffic driving into the area on Friday morning?

So unfortunately one of the members of our group has a can't-miss meeting at work on friday morning from 10:30-11:30 am, which means that we won't be able to leave orange county until about 11:45 am. How bad should we expect to hit traffic on the way to coachella at that time? We will take the usual 91 > 215 > 60 > 10 route, but we will not be driving directly into coachella as our hotel is in Cathedral City.

If you've already decided when you're leaving, what does it matter how long it'll take. Google Maps says 2.5 hours, but you're leaving LA during rush hour, so who knows. Beverly Hills and Coachella are both close to I-10 so get there and take that. Chill, You'll get there when you get there. Since your not camping, parking at the venue, I'm guessing you'll get there in time for the first band.

Seriously, If you're not camping, tell your friend to drive themselves and leave without him/her...Friday becomes an exponential worsening nightmare they later you wait to leave. I've had several friends/family members push it on Friday against my advice and they've gotten seriously burned...Leave LA area at 8 and you're in in time for the opening set at 11:30...Leave at noon and you're probably looking at even time to get to Monroe, but 1-3 hours to get parked and another 30-60 minutes before security...so you'll probably be on ground by 4pm at best, more likely between 5-6, so half the day is shot...leave at 2 and if you're lucky, you're walking onto the fields seconds before the night's headliner takes the mainstage.

If you're camping, the delays are even worse.

So again, my advice, tell your friend they are on their own getting up if your group is not camping, and the rest of you're group should leave around 8am.

Don't mean to be harsh, but experience has taught me over the years that the only thing that can really soil the Coachella experience is waiting on slow moving travel companions.

There will probably be traffic in on the 10 through downtown until you pass the 110, then should be clear until Indio.
I would take the 10 all the way...then traffic into the lots. You should be good if leaving @7
