Give me a Winchester rifle and a whole box of shells
Blow the roof off the goat barn
Let it roll down the hill
    The piano is firewood
    Times square is a dream
I find we'll lay down together in the cold cold ground

    Well it's Ninth and Hennepin
All the doughnuts have names that sound like prostitutes
And the moon's teeth marks are on the sky
Like a tarp thrown all over this
And the broken umbrellas like dead birds
And the steam comes out of the grill
Like the whole goddamn town's ready to blow...
And the bricks are all scarred with jailhouse tattoos
And everyone is behaving like dogs
And the horses are coming down Violin Road
And Dutch is dead on his feet
And all the rooms they smell like diesel
And you take on the dreams of the ones who have slept here
And I'm lost in the window, and I hide in the stairway
And I hang in the curtain, and I sleep in your hat...
And no one brings anything small into a bar around here
They all started out with bad directions
And the girl behind the counter has a tattooed tear
One for every year he's away, she said
    Such a crumbling beauty, ah
There's nothing wrong with her that a hundred dollars won't fix
She has that razor sadness that only gets worse
With the clang and the thunder of the Southern Pacific going by
And the clock ticks out like a dripping faucet
til you're full of rag water and bitters and blue ruin
And you spill out over the side to anyone who will listen...
And I've seen it all, I've seen it all
Through the yellow windows of the evening train...

Those were the days of roses, poetry, and prose and Martha all I had was you and all you had was me.
There were no tomorrows, we packed away our sorrows and we saved them for a rainy day.

She came a'slidin' on down the alleyway like butter drippin' off a hot biscuit. The aroma, the mean scent, was enough to arouse suspicion in even the oldest of Tigers that hung around the hot spot in those days. The sight was beyond belief. Many a head snapped for double, even triple, takes as this vivacious feline made her her way into the delta of the alleyway where the most virile of the young tabbys were known to hang out. They hung out in droves. Such a multitude of masculinity could only be found in one place... and that was O'malley's Alley. The air was thick with cat calls (no pun intended) but not even a muscle in her neck did twitch as she sauntered straight to behind the alleyway. She knew what she wanted. She was lookin' for that stud bull, She was lookin’ for that he cat. And that was me. Tommy the Cat is my name and I say unto thee...

Say baby do you wanna lay down by me?
Say baby do you wanna lay down by my side?
Ah baby do you wanna lay down with me?
    Say Baby

One night Frank was on his way home
from work, stopped at the liquor store,
picked up a couple of Mickey's Big Mouth’s.
Drank 'em in the car on his way to the
Shell station; he got a gallon of gas in a can.

    Drove home, doused everything in
    the house, torched it.
    Parked across the street laughing,
    watching it burn, all Halloween
    orange and chimney red.

Frank put on a top forty station,
    got on the Hollywood Freeway
    headed North.

    Never could stand that dog.

"This is about all the bad days in the world. I used to have some little bad days, and I kept them in a little box. And one day, I threw them out into the yard. "Oh, it's just a couple little innocent bad days." Well, we had a big rain. I don't know what it was growing in but I think we used to put eggshells out there and coffee grounds, too. Don't plant your bad days. They grow into weeks. The weeks grow into months. Before you know it you got yourself a bad year. Take it from me. Choke those little bad days. Choke 'em down to nothin'. They're your days. Choke 'em!”

    When I'm gone
Roll my vertabrae out like dice

So I'm just now starting to listen to him and I wanted to say this might be the most beautiful song I've ever heard

And anywhere I lay my head, boys
    I will call my home
