definately NOT planning on going to stagecoach, but i hope it is a success....
maybe the profits would lead to an even better coachellafest?

"conversation is a game of circles and i'm getting dizzy-- bye"
If you looked around you will find an article with Paul Tollete saying that this was a way to make sure Coachella stayed in Indio and at the Polo Fields by putting on a country festival.
I might, you have a problem with that? They will have better food and actually the rules are what we all want for Coachella. In and Outs to and from the venue if you are a camper, RVs allowed, chairs allowed. BBQ cookoff!!!

I can only handle country in small doses. Not a whole two-day filled venue of predominately over-patriotic artist. Coachella is definitely more up my alley. if Johnny Cash was alive and played, i might consider a one-day pass, but he isn't so that is out of question. Besides, being around a bunch of drunk rednecks with bar'b'q and meat- oh no, no- I'd rather pay to go to hell first.
My boyfriend wants to go, and he's dragging me to it... There are only about 5 artists I want to see... The rest of the time I'm gonna be drunk off my ass. The crowd is gonna scare me, I think...
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
Country fans are in an interesting bunch when you get them together in large numbers.
so are cattle

I think it would be interesting just to see the polo fields in a different musical setting, though i'm not a huge fan of country music
It sounds like a great laid back affair and you know there will some serious grilling and home made mash. And hopefully it will turn a profit after a year or two,
my only concern is I really hope GV aren't stretching themselves too thin this year .... an extra day of Coachella and an entirely new festival!! That office must be running 24-7, hopefully the staff doesn't get burnt out and they are wide awake at the end of April.
many of us will be sleeping at our cubes. I'm not kidding.

A BBQ cookoff at coachella would be great. What better cure for the munchies?
Stagecoach actually has a really good lineup if you disregard the headliners. Riders in the Sky, Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams, Old 97s, Neko Case(New Pornographers,John Doe(X/the Knitters), Junior Brown, Alejandro Escavedo and the Flatlanders are all some of my favorite musicians. I would go if I lived near there and I wasnt already going to Coachella.
Is there a such thing as eclectic country?
shit, don't forget about the mechanical bull!!!
I received this in an email from a friend who is one of the higher ups in the planning of the two festivals...
"And dont forget the trailboss seminars, mechanical bull, auctioneers, sanctioned BBQ cook-off, cowboy artifacts, and many other pieces of art geared towards a country western crowd. All in all, its going to be just as big, if not bigger than Coachella has become."
oh yeah, i will be there for sure, as well. not really a fan of country at all, but i think it will be a really fun weekend.

Yeah for sure, I want to see what the deal is with the hayride and lasso clinic. Do we get to lasso live cattle or like a person?
God, I want to go just for the BBQ cookoff.
I wanna go and be like the 2% of people who dont dress in denim or a cowboy hat of somesort and just see what kind of reactions I get.. Maybe I should go with a mohawk.
I'm too dark, I might get lynched.
shitkickers
Dude, people that are into country, or "rednecks" as you so kindly reffered to them are actually a really fun, easy-going bunch. I had my doubts too, but after going to some western-geared events I've realised that these people are fucking awesome. I'll take a redneck over a hipster any day.
the ones that bitch and moan and whine are not easy going at all. those are 90% of the people emailing questions and posting on their message board

There's tons of bitching and moaning going on here too. I think message boards just attract that type.
Laid back, easy going people are too laid back to bother posting on a board, let alone joining.
i'm on that board once in awhile, my country "handle" is cooter...see ya'll there.
I thought about making a country board handle but best to keep some consistency
