I just got it in the mail last week, and while I have yet to test it out camping, I can already tell it's going to be one hell of a comfortable sleep. Especially considering how portable it is. Air Mattresses are nice, but they aren't reliable. The last thing you want is a popped mattress on the first night. It happened to me one year at Sasquatch and it fucking sucked.

I had three divided cabin style (straight wall) tents and six Q air mattresses. One didn't hold air. I am also bringing cots this year!!! Be sure to bring a batt powered inflator - you will make valuable friends by sharing.

Just took out the ALPS today.
Glad I did. For first time use, I had to blow air in it for a bit.
My cat jumped on it in the middle of a blow and air went back in my mouth.
But in the end, it was quite comfy. My cat hogged it for a while.

Yea the first couple times you use it it will require some extra air blown in. Every time after that it does the job itself quite nicely! I like mine a little bit firmer so I still blow a couple extra puffs in there after it's done inflating. Glad to hear others are enjoying those things as much as I am!

What about cots? Now I have heard that those sleeping "pads" are great, but that cots at are best especially with the idea of air flowing bellow, and staying elevated.

The problem with air mattresses is they suck when you REALLY want to lay down during the day. Shit gets you so hot.
