-- About the Artists --

* OOAH *

Ooah is MAKER OF BASS MUSIC 1/3 of the infamous Glitch Mob, 1/2 of the elusive PANTyRAiD and 100% Of Porcelain.

* R/D *

R/D is is the musical creation of R.D. White, an LA-based electronic music producer and performer. Known for mixing crushing breaks with swirling indie rock melodies, R/D is part of a new generation of producers melding electro-hop and indie rock.In addition to producing, R/D performs dynamic live sets as a musician, playing keyboards and controllers in real time to create the epic melodies, sweeping builds, catchy hooks, and massive drops that define his sound.

* DERU *

Deru is Benjamin Wynn, an electronic music producer from Los Angeles. His music is best described as an amalgamation of hip-hop, electronica and IDM. Say Goodbye to Useless will be his third album and comprises the aesthetics of his previous releases – moody, atmospheric sounds, haunting melodies and organic textures – but with his most mature song-writing and thumping beats to date.

* Live painting by John Park *

John Park is an artist and teacher living in Los Angeles. He received his training at the Rhode Island School of Design where he studied classical drawing, painting, sculpture and anatomy. His current series is an attempt at reconciling these classical influences with the more urban aesthetic of the Pop Surrealist movement. The paintings themselves are executed in a live, public setting usually in one evening and then taken back to his studio for further reworking and detail work. He teaches drawing and painting at Concord High School in Santa Monica, has three cats and one Tree.

* Live painting by Ashley Bowers *

Ashley Bowers is an artist of many mediums. She graduated from California State University Long Beach in 2009 with a BFA in drawing and painting, but has done everything from painting, to sculpture, to costume design. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles as an artist, a live painter, and a fashion model. A Burner by blood, her father Jim Bowers started going to Burning Man when she was a kid. He encouraged her artistic talents & leadership qualities, & always included her in the construction of his own art & BM grant projects. Her work has been shown in several group shows throughout southern California, but the “Boogaloo” art car project, which debuted at Burning Man 2011, was her biggest project to date. When it comes to her painting, her style and inspiration is constantly evolving. Being a woman of multiple races, and an interesting life’s history, has inspired her to explore the identity of not only herself, but all women. In an effort to combine her passions for art and fashion, she incorporates the use of lace and other textiles into the work and has even sewn these embellishments directly onto the canvas.

* ROBOT KOCH *

Due to passport issues Robot Koch will not be performing tonight.
