I think it debunks the myth that no matter what year or what the lineup is that people's view of it will increase as the festival gets closer. I think that's what you were kinda sorta alluding to when you said:

I think it probably tells us more about what kids of people visit the message board in each month, than it actually tells us about the lineup.

I'm disappointed about the shitty EDM but it wasn't really on my mind when I first saw the lineup and now that I've discovered other top notch indie and rock bands in the undercard I'm still excited. I'll still be dancing, just not surrounded by rave kids in the Sahara.

The dome can go fuck itself. It turned the food court area into a dubstep and do lab shit noise sandwich and ruined all my spicy pie.
