My store had like 10 extra sitting on the shelf like an hour ago but they were being really strict about 1 per customer on all items. The colored vinyl is fucking wacko. Totally random and insane. Keep looking!

And mine looks nothing like either of the above.
If anyone gets an extra and wants to help me out, I'd be super super grateful. If I don't get one it's my fault for sleeping on it though.

Uhh, I'll see if a family member/friend is going by there on the way tonight and can grab one. I feel bad breaking their 1 per customer rule since they were so nice to me today helping out. Or tomorrow I can check when I'm to SB. I'll PM you!

argh. several of you go the gorillaz. :-( that was top of my list, and I couldn't find a copy at amoeba.
I saw several copies of the sigur ros, but didn't buy it. that album was not good. I can't believe what people are paying for it.
that flaming lips record takes the cake though. wow.

I remember last year amoeba and origami I'm gonna say were restocking all weekend if they found something.
apparently there are two versions of the flaming lips record.
For all of us who bought The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends today (yesterday), there are apparently two different versions of the track “2012 (You Must Be Upgraded)”. One version contains a Doctor Who sample, and the other version has Henry Rollins recreating that sample.
According to Discogs, the only way you can tell which version you have is to check the deadwax on the first side. The Doctor Who sample version will have “YOU MUST BE UPGRADED. THANK YOU DOCTOR WHO!!!” etched into the deadwax, whereas the Henry Rollins version will say “YOU AND ME WE KNOW THAT LOVE IS TRUE”. If Discogs is telling the truth, then I have the Doctor Who sample version.
Finally got around to cataloging everything I got yesterday with their respective press runs. Here’s my haul:

Andrew, I dropped by Amoeba today and was going to snag you the Little Richard and Mississippi John Hurt records, but they're all gone. Sorry, dude.
I did pick up the Carolina Chocolate Drops/Run DMC split today and the disc is mislabeled (RUN DMC playing on Chocolate Drops side, vice versa), anyone else encounter this?
Record Store Day on Facebook said all of the Carolina Chocolate Drops/Run DMC records were mislabeled.

The guys selling the Heady Fwends records on eBay at face value didn't end up having as many copies of the record as he thought. He ended up having to back out of the sale.

when I first tried to order the DFA vinyl on saturday the site was breaking. I sent them an email. I tried again later and and got through ok.
monday they responded to my email ackolwedging the problems they encountered, indicating that they were trying hard to find another copy for me. I saved them the trouble by telling them I got an order in, but I was impressed they were going to make such an effort.
kudos to kill the 8.
