Dude I bought it on a whim. If you are really excited about it, you deserve to have it. Especially after grabbing me that Feist/ Mastodon split. We will talk tomorrow to figure out how this exchange will work. Thanks again man!
I could not find that or the Mississippi John Hurt record at any of the three stores I hit up today. Lame. It was a pretty good day otherwise.

Yeah, that was actually the 7" I was most excited for, but I know it's a rare release and I don't want to take it from you. I certainly want it, but I'm trying to resist the urge to grab it and run away giddily clicking my heels. Let's get a PM session going and let's see how we can do this.
Oh man, really? Ameoba on Haight had a ton of both the Little Richard and the John Hurt LPs. I'm thinking of swinging back down there while running some errands, I'll check in and see.
Oh yeah:

Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come (I know, I know, I already bought one at Coachella, but that one is going to wear out eventually . . .)
Well, honestly, it sounds like you fucked yourself going to Hoodlum's. Is it still that tiny little place on ASU campus? Place is balls, or it was when I was growing up there, you should have hit Zia and East Side on Mill. I'm sure they got more releases than Hoodlum's.
Eastside closed.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
Really? Damn. That shows how long it's been since I lived in Phoenix. That was my favorite record store in the valley, they had those ridiculously small-run/out of print punk and hardcore releases that NO ONE else had. Their blues section was pretty ace as well. Well, I retract my previous comment, then.
Lots of the RSD titles are starting to pop up on Discogs, and there are already people selling them at ridiculous prices. I bought the St. Vincent 7" for $6 and some asshole from NYC has it listed for $75!

Smart move. I'm not sure if it's rare, but I overheard a lot of folks at Ameoba looking for it.
And this Little Richard disc rips, I can't imagine hearing this shit in the early 50s. Just so explosive and colorful and visceral. And the sax solos; good god, the sax solos.
Here's what I got at the Amoeba in SF...

Only 500 of the Gorillaz were pressed. Hoodlums is on McClintock and Guadalupe now after the MU fire a few years back. They got a lot of titles just not a lot of copies. My mom went to Zia on Chandler Blvd to help grab other stuff for me until I got there. She's cool like that. But she had no chance at the Feistodon either. It was really in high demand around here.
5/11 - The Rolling Stones (MGM Grand Garden Arena); 5/30 - Fleetwood Mac (US Airways Center); 6/5 - Mumford & Sons (Desert Sky Pavilion); 6/18 - She & Him (Comerica Theatre); 6/26 - Kendrick Lamar (Mesa Amphitheatre); 7/5 - Mayhem Festival (Desert Sky Pavilion); 7/28 - Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z (Rose Bowl); 8/30 - Black Sabbath (US Airways Center); 12/2 - Justin Timberlake (US Airways Center)
The pressing was 500 or something. My friend found a copy behind another record at Berkeley Amoeba and got it for me.
I only heard of one copy at Rasputin/Amoeba/1-2-3-4 Go!. Nice find Josh. Greg, that's weird that Amoeba SF had Mississippi John Hurt and Little Richard and the one out here didn't...hmm.
You are the only person I have heard of even seeing the Sigur Ros record, let alone purchasing one. Congrats.
YOU GOT A DEATH ROW RECORDS SAMPLER!? Fuck, I wish I got that. Or the Shins EP, that looked cool, too.
Let's see, I got
7"
K'NAAN - With God On Our Side (interested to play, this is my favorite of Dylan's anti-war songs)
CD
Slightly Stoopid sampler. Lame
White Denim - MixDisc2
And a bunch of posters for bands that I don't know or give a shit about. No tote bag. Weak showing, Ameoba, weak showing. I did get a Jennifer Hudson cocaine mirror, though.
Let me also say it sucks having to compete with people in the real world on RSD. Always loved how I was able to buy anything and everything I wanted to at Coachella. It's really the only thing I'm jealous about for Weekend 2. At least I got to pick up Vaya at Weekend 1.
5/11 - The Rolling Stones (MGM Grand Garden Arena); 5/30 - Fleetwood Mac (US Airways Center); 6/5 - Mumford & Sons (Desert Sky Pavilion); 6/18 - She & Him (Comerica Theatre); 6/26 - Kendrick Lamar (Mesa Amphitheatre); 7/5 - Mayhem Festival (Desert Sky Pavilion); 7/28 - Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z (Rose Bowl); 8/30 - Black Sabbath (US Airways Center); 12/2 - Justin Timberlake (US Airways Center)
I hear you. This was my first real-world RSD and it was definitely different than strolling into the Zia tent at 3:00pm and finding everything I wanted.
People were surprisingly helpful when I was digging at 1-2-3-4 Go! this morning. The first five minutes were pretty brutal but after that people were helping each other out, which I thought was cool. Did you guys have more cutthroat experiences?
You mean outside of Coachella? It's only being sold at Coachella and nowhere else.
5/11 - The Rolling Stones (MGM Grand Garden Arena); 5/30 - Fleetwood Mac (US Airways Center); 6/5 - Mumford & Sons (Desert Sky Pavilion); 6/18 - She & Him (Comerica Theatre); 6/26 - Kendrick Lamar (Mesa Amphitheatre); 7/5 - Mayhem Festival (Desert Sky Pavilion); 7/28 - Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z (Rose Bowl); 8/30 - Black Sabbath (US Airways Center); 12/2 - Justin Timberlake (US Airways Center)
There were a lot of them, too. Easily 15 Little Richard discs and a bunch of Mississippi John Hurt. Buddy Guy sold out instantly, which I found a bit odd considering none of the other Vanguard reissues sold nearly as fast. If you find yourself in the city, it's worth stopping by to check. And yeah, I saw one guy walking around with Sigur Ros. One. I thought Ameoba would have more.
EDIT: Actually, I have the 2010 RSD Mississippi John Hurt LP still sealed. If we can't secure you a copy of this year's John Hurt release, I'll sell you the 2010 for what I paid.
EDIT II: This Skip James LP is great. Which version do you have? I was on discogs and noticed that are two LPs of the same name but different content. One on Vanguard, the other on a British label. If the copy you got for $20 is Vanguard, that just might be the steal of the year.
This is disappointing (42 copies at the time of posting): http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=...=306&_from=R40
I was lucky and got one, but I missed out on the Gorillaz 10". How much was that selling for?
Did anyone see Unrest's Perfect Teeth box set? Just curious if it was hard to find everywhere, or just in Atlanta.
Thanks for the offer, Andrew. I'll probably just order it through Teenbeat. I was pleasantly surprised at how many of the RSD releases we had in this neck of the woods, so it just figures the one I really wanted was nowhere to be found.
This Destroyer's Rubies sounds absolutely wonderful.
I got that and the Heady Fwends Flaming Lips release. I kind of want to buy another for different colored records since all the crazy vinyl looks so different each time.
My store only got 1 of the Flaming Lips/Mastadon and I missed out on it. Debating if its worth ordering from the FLips website.
Damn, Heady Friends sold out from their site. I didn't think I'd want it but after listening to the rip today I fell in love.
The Rolling Stones - International Noise Conference: Los Angeles - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Austra - Colin Stetson - The Pacific Rim Projekt - The National - Goat Rodeo - Hopscotch 2013- GY!BE - Beirut/Vampire Weekend
