Yeah, I bought everything Friday when gates opened and payed to have it shipped home. It being stored at the zia record tent is covered if you ship them, and not a single one arrived warped or damaged and I only waited a week or so!
Did they let you buy RSD stuff Weekend 1? Do you think they'll let you buy it on Friday or will it all just be Saturday?
There were a few things they got permission to put out a week early but not much. And there were 2 or 3 Coachella exclusives.
Everything that is a rsd release will be there the whole weekend 2.
Amoeba's got their list of RSD releases up as a pdf file here. Unsurprisingly they will have lots and lots of releases and essentially everything I want - except for the Danny Brown XXX release. Lame.

Just found out the record store my band is playing at is getting in the Death From Above 1979 reissue. Fuck. Yes.
However, they are not allowed to put any records on hold... not even for friends or bands playing. Looks like I am going to have to get there early. They do have a 1 record per person limit on any releases of 10 or less in the store though... I am not sure how many they are getting in, but I doubt they get 10+.
Any LA folks doing the midnight onsale at Permanent Records in Eagle Rock tomorrow night? I'm very tempted...

^ It appears to be off the main list on the RSD website, so I guess it's true. That sucks too - I really wanted to pick that one up.

You can get the Flaming Lips RSD release on their site right now...

I didn't get a single record I wanted.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.
I got my DFA vinyl. So happy. Also... The White Stripes 7" is gorgeous. I got a bunch of others and spent amore than I thought I would... but Im happy.
With the being said... if anyone got the Feist/ Mastodon split, I would LOVE to buy it off you. Please. I wanted it for Beckys b-day which is coming up soon. If anyone can help me out, let me know!
so, record store day at amoeba blows.
thanks. this saved me a difficult decision of whether to bother standing in line.
also, the pink DFA vinyl is available online with shipping worldwide. I just ordered one.
That Feistodon record went fast where I was too. Didn't get one.
I didn't get any RSD stuff, but did spend money at both my local record stores today. My little bro picked up the DEVO live album and the Lou Reed reissue of Transformer. I was really stoked to see such a huge turnout. There was a line of 40+ people at Coop Records in Moline, IL and a bigger crowd across the river at Ragged Records in IA. RR even had live bands playing in store throughout the day and another RSD related show tonight at a local coffee house/club. So glad that some mom&pop music stores are too stubborn to quit.
My non RSD scores were a Sharon Jones album and Burial Untrue. Also picked up singles by Kevin Saunderson, Masters At Work and ESG.
I got everything I wanted (all $300+ of it) except for the Mastodon/Feist and Sigur Ros pieces. Hoodlums in Tempe only had 3 Mastodon/Feist and I was about number 15 in line. I don't believe they got a single copy of Hvarf-Heim.
Also, anyone here score the Gorillaz 7"? I knew not to get my hopes up since there were only 500. Some of these print runs are just plain stupid.
6/18 - She & Him (Comerica Theatre); 6/26 - Kendrick Lamar (Mesa Amphitheatre); 7/5 - Mayhem Festival (Desert Sky Pavilion); 7/28 - Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z (Rose Bowl); 8/30 - Black Sabbath (US Airways Center); 9/29 - Jimmy Eat World (Marquee Theatre); 10/1 - The Lumineers (Comerica Theatre); 12/2 - Justin Timberlake (US Airways Center); 4/11-13 - Coachella Weekend 1
Thanks for the heads up on DFA1979... because I didn't spend enough earlier.
Had to wait in line for about an hour at M-Theory, got there kind of late. They were fairly cleaned out by the time I got in.
Grabbed:
Iggy & the Stooges - Raw Power
Death Grips - The Money Store
LCD Sounsystem - Losing My Edge
Destroyer - Destroyer's Rubies
Also found a colored edition of Flying Lotus' 1983. Which is apparently a 2011 reissue.

Ok, had some luck and ended up with Refused and the Cursive Burst and Bloom marble vinyl.
