Whatever man. Dennis doesn't have a record label that releases Sweden local artists and didn't record any albums after Refused's demise right? Both Dennis and David have been active inside and outside the hardcore scene for the last 15 years. They did several other projects after Refused. The International Noise Conspiracy, AC-4, etc. Scott Vogel wouldn't know! Dissing another band like that in general and just denying the impact and influence Refused had is just low.

Yeah, that guy comes across as one of those hardcore, they-didn't-stay-in-the-scene-and-wear-a-leather-jacket-so-they-aren't-punk sorta dudes. Fuck him.

And it seems to me that his point is that Refused made songs, played shows and then disappeared, and now that they're back he's just not down with it. But you know why we give them money to come back and play for us? Because they wrote damn good songs that we wanted to hear. I'm sure if fans of his clamored for him to return because he wrote a seminal album in ten years, I bet he'd do it.

OK, so I missed Refused at Coachella, and I decided to see them at the Fillmore in Silver Springs, MD, last night. They were good, but not memorable. Maybe because it was a Monday night & wasn't a sell-out crowd. I'm glad they reunited, but I bet they were better at Coachella with a larger, wilder crowd. The lead singer is 40 years old and is very cute and is as fit as a teenager, skinny jeans and all. The first group, Off, was really stoopid. The lead singer has a comb-over, and he's yelling "Who here is from Hermosa Beach?" - like anyone from the DC area even knows where Hermosa Beach is. After the song, he mumbles, "Ok, how about anyone from California?" LOL. Good times.

Oh. He and I were born in the same year. That explains the comb-over, ha. I knew he was from Hermosa Beach, as he told the crowd he was - he should have brought a map to show them where it was, instead of saying "It's way over there, you know, like WAY over there" and then pointing towards Hermosa Beach. Yeah, it's part of the schtick, but the crowd was like "Huh"? He talked about politics, the state of the economy, various venues he performed at - and people were yelling, "Just play some music." Then he told the crowd about how he didn't care if they liked him or not, but at least they should respect him. Then he gave a lecture about respect. I mean, I went to see the music, too.

I would have loved to see the Circle Jerks back in the day. But sometimes, you can't go back.

OFF! are great wehn they actually play their songs, but yes keith morris is fucking annoying and ruins any momentum the set ever has with his yammering.

Tonight's Refused/OFF! show at Williamsburg Park in Brooklyn canceled because of the crazy fucking storm that hit an hour ago. Apparently Counting Crows went off without a hitch last night, so there's something anyway. You know, if you like that shit.
