    No registration for me.
How much time does it take to wave your arm at a sign you're walking by on the way to a stage anyway?

I don't think the serial number that appears on the inside of the wristband shows up anywhere else, and you need that number to register your band.

It gives you the option to connect your facebook when you register your wristband, you have to click the 'connect with fb' button to do it. Possible upgrades and discounts on stuff hell yeah, even if it is only a couple bucks off the spicy pie its worth it

THis sounds much like registering your ski/snowboard mountain pass in Colorado with epic pass to your Facebook. Checks you in automatically and if there's photographers on site who take photos they send them automatically to your account. I found it pretty awesome.

Makes me want to register my wristband and link my facebook account. The only drawback is my facebook friends will know I'm watching Atari Teenage Riot. But then again I don't have a facebook account so no point!

    I find it pretty gay

maybe you could check in at the Port-O-John's station...let everyone know you are taking a shit

check in at each blade of grass that you touch

check in at the souvineer stand - let everyone know you bought a shirt

check in when you eat lunch

somehow you think people actually give a fuck what you are doing...or is it your need to say 'look at me look at me i'm over here doing this.' to tell your 'friends' on facebook.

    Looser...here's some advice....

go have fun at the concert and don't give a fuck who knows

I can't wait to see people actually waiting in lines at stages to 'check in' -that's even More pathetic than pathetic

I'm curious about this too. It also mentions on the registration page that wristbands can be deactivated. So I'm also wondering if this is the only way to deactivate the wristband? If anyone could help, it'd be greatly appreciated.

actually no, if it were truly gay it would be much more fabulous than a simple registration. There would be a seperate package associated with it along with a registration party where we could all cruise each other and scope out who we think is hot and who is not accompanied with a full service bar so we could get trashed while doing it.
At least that would be gay to me as I am a gay man.
You must know something about the lifestyle as you stated it as "being gay." Are you hot?

baily for someone who hates facebook attention seekers I find it odd how you keep repeatedly posting the same unintelligible argument to garner attention on these boards. This seems like a pretty cool feature if coachella develops it right, especially the built in deals. No one is going to force you to check in anywhere and the fact it may save you money while providing some extra wristband security sounds like a win-win.

yes, you will find out if it's illegitimate. further, if you bought from a third party, registering will attatch your name to the wristband, so if there are issues with the rfid fixing those issues will be much smoother.

so i registered mine cuz i think it could be a cool interactive thingamajig but one question that does come to mind is about "checking in" at the stages. If you're like me most of the time you arrive during the set before the band you want to see (unless conflicts don't allow it) so will it check you in to the previous band or the band you want to see...or is it just going to check you into a specific stage? Honestly it doesn't matter but DAMN all those check ins at the beer garden!!!!
