I think the 2 rumors so far will happen. PJ Harvey was in their top 5 of best albums, they usually book acts that end up on their year end lists.

Best guesses until they say something......

    Headliners:

    Pj Harvey
    Bon Iver
    Pulp

    Undercard:

    Jeff Mangum
    Purity Ring
    Grimes
    The War On Drugs
    Mr. Motherfuckin eXquire
    Real Estate
    Girls
    Frank Ocean
    Youth Lagoon
    Kendrick Lamar
    Nicolas Jaar
Refused (long shot, but could work since they would have a week to come back this way from europe)
Oh man, this was one of your lowest moments in concert-dom. How in hell you did you ever think this little fest could come up with the scratch for these names?! And, they usually book bands that they've BNM'd...it's part of their marketing strategy.

But, yeah...this lineup is underwhelming. Bummer as I really want(ed) to go again.

I was considering this fest for the first time but I think i'll visit Chicago the weekend leading up to the 4th of July or during Lolla if that lineup is just amazing but i'm not expecting it to be. I'm not a big fan of that fest to begin with.

I wish I could go to see Tim Hecker and GY!BE, but like others, I wouldn't travel for this.

Definitely disappointing. Is that why she was being rumored? A potential tour? She should have played Pitchfork last year.

Are Feist and Vampire Weekend headliners? I may still go, but now I'm just hoping this means Godspeed and Liturgy will finally come here

It ends at 10pm, you could leave at 8:30 and get dinner without all the sweaty hipsters bothering you.

This lineup really bums me out. As much as I love GY!BE, they really don't have any place headlining this (and they're the best of the 3 headliners at that). What's happened to this fest...just look at how it started and where it is now. Zero edge remains.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitchfo...stival#History

EDIT: and the thought of PJ Harvey ever playing this fest is quite laughable.

What would be/has been edgy I guess would be my question? And there are still 30+ bands to be added.

Yeah, maybe the adds will help overcome my disappointment. But, if those are the 3 headliners, that's a pretty big hole...for me.

As for the edgy comment...take a look at years 2007 & 2008. That sort of stuff. Don't mind me...I'm just a bit gutted as I was really looking forward to this. Two of my favorite festivals have left me limp this year. Sigh.

2009 was the last good year of this fest imo. ever since then they have oversold it by 15,000K and brought in weaker lineups. they know that the hipster dbags will go to this no matter what so they can get away with their actions.

all we can hope for now is godspeed playing at lincoln hall that weekend.

I know Godspeed are making the rounds and all, but they're still a band worth getting excited about live. Although if it's the usual chatty crowd, there might be a massacre. And from the 2 sold out shows at the Metro to Lincoln Hall? I highly doubt it.

Well, some decent adds to the second wave of bands for this fest. Sleigh Bells and Flying Lotus should be fun. Wondered if Feist or Godspeed would actually be the headliners and so far it seems to be the case. But they claim 20 more bands are still TBA. Somehow they sold out of 3 day passes already.

Two years ago when I went, 3 day passes sold out in less than a week if I remember correctly. Last year, I don't know how fast it sold out but I'm not surprised that 3 day passes are sold out. And yes Feist, Godspeed & VW are headliners.

Fly Lo late night club show?!

    4/15 Daniel Rossen @ MHOW

Last year 3-day passes went on sale on a Friday, by Sunday night they were gone.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

Yeah, me too. I'm starting to lean towards coming again. I'm very, very curious about the direction Dirty Projectors is taking...esp now that Angel is gone.

But, I have no tickets. Does anyone recall how easy it was to get 3-days just prior to the fest? I seem to recall quite a few people trying to sell some on the board here for at/near face, no?

Yep. Their 2010 Pitchfork set was f-ed up and almost no guitar for 2 songs due to tech issues. The crowd was retarted and full of kids that just wanted to push everyone. Unfortunately, I was stuck in the middle/front. I should have watched Pavement instead.

Total agreement. Godspeed, Flying Lotus, Hot Chip, Grimes in the same day is the only convincing thing I see. I think unless something drastic changes, I'm only going then.

What is it with Dirty Projectors and attractive women? They seen to flock to it.
