Default RHCP vs BLACK KEYS - as a headliner

Bonnaroo landed Radiohead AND RHCP. Lets be real here, do the Black Keys even have two songs that sound different from one another. Anyway, you decide.

I'd take The Black Keys to headline AGAIN next year before I would take RHCP.

The Black Keys are a far better band than RHCP ever were. But I'd still probably take RHCP over a Black Keys repeat.

They were fucking TERRIBLE the last time they headlined. And now John Frusciante is gone. What's the point?

Haha whatever fool they weren't terrible.

The point would be to have something better than the Keys. But I do miss Frusciante, his backing vocals were amazing.

Unhappy Re: RHCP vs BLACK KEYS - as a headliner

I could have really gone for Sir Psycho Sexy during their 2007 set but whateves they were fucking awesome. The Black Keys arn't headlining material yet. They have 1 huge album and a ton of mediocre ones. They already played Coachella last year, riding on the popularity of that 1 huge album. Who cares, I'm going to be at Amon Tobin.

Who misses Frusciante because of his backing vocals?

I was way into RHCP... 20 years ago. Now I don't care so much. The Keys just keep putting out great tunes. Very excited to see them again.

The last time I saw RHCP was Coachella 2003 and they were fucking boring. The Black Keys set last year, which by everyone else's account (except mine and Dylan's apparently) wasn't up to par, was still better than that 2003 performance by RHCP. Also, from what I hear, (like what Matt said as well as countless others) their 2007 set wasn't very good either.

RHCP has gone from having a reputation of being one of the most wild and entertaining live bands to watch to one of the dullest in the matter of a couple of years back in the late 90's. They don't put on the live shows they used to.
