Neat, thanks for sharing.
The Rolling Stones - International Noise Conference: Los Angeles - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Austra - Colin Stetson - The Pacific Rim Projekt - The National - Goat Rodeo - Hopscotch 2013- GY!BE - Beirut/Vampire Weekend
Having listened to them only briefly, I assumed 'Keep Shelly in Athens' was in reference to Athens, GA, REM's home town, not Athens, Greece.![]()
thats really neato. I have one of the headliners in my home town![]()
C'mon Asia, get in the game
Korean Pop is going to dominate next year's line-up.
Thank you for posting the map! It's been my favorite project in all of the six years I've been covering the fest. We actually just moved back to PE.com so the map now lives at

Borgore is from Tel Aviv? That almost makes him excusable![]()

Anonimouse- I did a combination of both. I tried to use artists' websites/official Facebook locations for the most updated version. For some artists, I had to go with origin because of the information available.
Exactly. He's in the Taylor/Austin area now. I got that one from the band's Facebook page.
See, I know that part of Texas a little bit, and being from Taylor is definitely different from being from Austin. Though maybe with urban sprawl that's not so much the case any more. I think of driving through Taylor and I think of large farm implement dealerships.
I thought it was a little strange, too, so I went with Taylor since it was more specific. I have only spent time in Austin for SXSW though, so I don't know the area at all. Let me know if any other ones strike you as odd, too. The beauty of the map is that it's easy for me to update. I'm actually swapping out the links inside the individual artist information boxes, too, as I post interviews with the bands. That reminds me, I need to go update the Dawes one.
As soon as I get the set times, I'll be adding those to the map as well. Only a few more days!
Cool project! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like it!
Update: I just added Abe Vigoda. I gave them their original home base of Chino instead of LA. Gotta support the 909 connection. The other two acts with I.E.ties are The Dear Hunter, which is based in Canyon Lake, and Suedehead, which is in Orange County, but their horn section is made up of members of Riverside's own ska legends The Debonaires.
Sweet

Just updated the map to reflect DJ Alf Alpha, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Tijuana Panthers.
We're in the process of adding stages and set times to the map this morning.

I have a couple of other artists to add, too, including Gabe Real and Juice, who are from out here in the I.E.
