FWIW It's a pretty even split among regulars on whether that is a (very) elaborate fake.
I'm leaning towards this being real... I've been a Lolla regular since 2009. The undercard is what looks convincing... It's really complete.
It could still be fake, but the combination of the confirmed bands in appropriate places, the underwhelming Perry's (as usual) and very complete undercard tells me this is likely real.
4/10 - Henry Rollins
4/19-21 - Coachella Weekend 2
5/8 - Dillinger Escape Plan
5/24-26 - Summer Camp Music Festival
7/19 - Pitchfork... Only Friday. Björk!
6/1 - Twin Shadow
8/2-4 - Lollapalooza
The one oddity I've spotted is that Kimbra isn't on this lineup. That's a confirmation from last week.

It also has 3 hip-hop acts right next to each other for no reason - J Cole, Frank Ocean, Childish Gambino. Like someone was thinking "hmm my fake line-up is going to need some hip-hop".
If it's mediocre, then Coachella is not far off. They both fulfill similar roles across the board. The headliners match up well too. Rare headliner for both (Dre and Snoop/Black Sabbath) Black Keys for both, Jack White/Radiohead.
I'd argue that Lolla fills in the rest of the bands that I've wanted to see each year. I'm surprised by Franz too... I've wanted to see them for years but they don't play Chicago often. There's just a lot of bands I've missed in past years, have never seen or are also going to be at Coachella. That will solve conflicts so much easier.
It's all debatable who has the better lineup, but I'm glad to get the best of both worlds.

Coachella has 20 higher names or so that haven't played a US major. Franz and Sigur Ros have already played Coachella.
If this is a fake it will probably be better than the real line-up and Coachella's line-up still blows this fake out the water.
Franz are doing Osheaga the same weekend, so they were anticipated.
Little surprised Garbage isn't on the list.
Any Pitchfork crossover, or acts that already booked to play 2012 shows in Chicago?
Theres never any crossover between Pitchfork and Lolla.....
If it's the real lineup, then it's pretty clear that Coachella > Lollapalooza > Bonnaroo > not going to any festival at all.
And since Coachella is held at just about the worst possible time of year for an east coast grad student...
the "insider" was that douche who used to write for pitchfork. nothing he says should've been taken seriously.
| May 22 - Paul McCartney | May 24 - Black Flag | May 25 - Soundgarden | May 31 - Baroness | June 1 - Andy Stott | June 10 - Dragonette | June 22 - Tricky | July 27 - Black Sabbath | August 2 - Rob Zombie/Mastodon |August 15 - Queens of the Stone Age | October 4-6 - ACL |
The two weekends before the last week of the semester? Yeah, I'd say so.

Oh, the mtv story got pulled. Looks like somebody got in trouble.....
It just struck me as odd that a guy who's 20 years younger is sidelined by cancer for a couple years while Iommi would only be sidelined for a few months. If it's true, I just think that's shitty that Coachella got the shaft (although I've finally come around to accepting that Dre & Snoop were the replacements for Sabbath rather than the Keys). And Franz is the 17th act listed, which would be like the 5th act of their day, so you're right that isn't too far from where they were in '09 at Coachella.
Haha, Tommy and I were talking about this over the weekend. I think he told me about somebody else making that mistake -- guess the wrong answer must've stuck in my head.
Eh while Lolla's 2nd headliners each day are usually pretty big - for the most part there is a big drop down compared to the top acts at Coachella. Cee Lo and Nas and Damian Marley were subs last year (so 3rd to 4th biggest acts on their day). Look at the Coachella line-up. Franz 17th would be a bit of a surprise. Even with the rare factor Afghan Whigs above Bloc Party and Franz seems weird.
Lineup out at midnight tonight. Im expecting to see that mtv leak be the real lineup.
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
The Head and the Heart (confirmed via Fleetwood Mac cover song).
I'm hearing more and more chatter on the lolla boards that radio stations are announcing the headliners as Sabbath, Black Keys, Jack White, Florence, RHCP, Avicii and Bassnectar. I will be pleasantly surprised if this is not true and we aren't getting RHCP dumped on us. This was apparently on Kiss 103, and followed up by their sponsers. I think that leak was legit.

Last year was the first year since I first went in '06 that I didn't got to Lollapalooza. I was really hoping for a comeback of sorts, but if those are the actual headliners... yikes, that's bad. Guess we'll see at midnight.
Leaked lineup confirmed...

I just threw up a little.
Can definitely see why there would be complaints with the headliners, but otherwise that's very very good for a lolla lineup.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA, and you guys thought the other shit was fake?
