Most the headliners suck and they got Passion Pit/ Franz Ferdinand to make things worse. O well maybe next year...

Franz Ferdinand is one of the redeeming factors...I hope Afghan Whigs come and play here somewhere.
I don't really know what people were expecting if they don't like this line up. Sure, it's definitely inferior to Coachella, but it easily trumps many past Lollapalooza line ups, and it DOMINATES last year's.
The undercard might, But I feel like the headliners are fairly similar across the board. Muse, Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, My Morning Jacket, and Deadmau5 were all very different. The Black Keys, Jack White, Black Sabbath, Florence, RHCP, and Avicii are a lot of the same. I know Lolla usually has a headliner that isn't a headliner(Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeah's, MMJ) but all three of those are way more worthy then Florence. I mean, come on. I know she's good and I like her, but still. Good for Avicii though I guess. I am guessing ATDI will be treated like A Perfect Circle was.
After reading the lineup I'm not too bummed that I can't make it this year. Coachella's lineup is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better
So compaired to Osheaga...No Zola Jesus, Garbage or Huoratron....BOO! Those names alone would have made me look at this one and go, WOW.... but now I feel impartial... Ill prob still attend though.
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
Weak headliners as I expected, but I love the subs and the undercard
Now if we could just get the Coachella set times tonight plz!
It's just kinda boring. Unoriginal. Look at Coachella's lineup this year. Top to bottom, you can tell a lot of care and effort was put into crafting that thing. You just don't get that with Lollapalooza. And so I don't get the urge to give them a bunch of money and go to their festival. Tons of the bands have already played, for one thing. And like someone else said, a lot of the headliners just feel like the same band. There's no creativity to it.
The Afghan Whigs is arguably the band I'd be most excited about, and one of the few that sets Lollapalooza apart this year; but even so, Greg Dulli has played Lollapalooza before.
So, yeah, I dunno. I'm just not impressed.

Fun game. Imagine Coachella is now in early august and Lollapalooza is in April, and they announced their line ups accordingly. How boring is Lollapalooza with the first ATDI/Afghan Whigs/Sigur Ros/Weeknd/Jack White/etc. dates? Is it better than Coachella? Certainly not. But there is a little more luster on a whole bunch of the bookings...
walk off the earth? loooooooooooool
also, dev = lulz
A lot of those artists aren't playing both festivals, though. It's not really a matter of which came first. I just get the feeling the Coachella organizers put a little more effort into it this year, and it really shows.
Incidentally, the Chicago Sun-Times article was taken down. Either because Lollapalooza really wants to wait until midnight, or because they realized the mistake they made. We'll find out in two hours.
I doubt the sun times fucked up. And every single music outlet already posted stories. So Lolla should just own up to it ad post it.
There is a lot of variety in this lineup.
I would go just on the day that Black Sabbath would be playing.
i like this lineup. much moreso than last years. aside from sabbath, headliners are whatever but that seems to be the case now with lolla. i'll probably go.
June 22 - Deafheaven
June 28 - Sasha
July 3 - Weedeater
July 26 - The Sword
July 27 - Black Sabbath
August 16 - My Bloody Valentine
October 4-6 - ACL
October 5 - Queens of the Stone Age
November 5 - Nine Inch Nails
November 8-10 - FFF Fest
November 15 - Nine Inch Nails
November 16 - Nine Inch Nails
I knew that Brazil leak was legit. It just seemed way too realistic. I still hate that we got dumped on with RHCP, but I'm actually shocked that we got Sabbath. I'm praying it's not Jack White against Sabbath. That would piss me off to no end.
4/10 - Henry Rollins
4/19-21 - Coachella Weekend 2
5/8 - Dillinger Escape Plan
5/24-26 - Summer Camp Music Festival
7/19 - Pitchfork... Only Friday. Björk!
6/1 - Twin Shadow
8/2-4 - Lollapalooza
Rolling Stone is saying that those six are the headliners.
Scheduling paradigm shift? It wasn't always the way it is now, maybe they are changing it up a little this year. The Avicii/Justice/Flo/ATDI billing make no sense with the current system.
That line up is pretty badass. But I'm bias cuz I love Jack White and RHCP.
Sabbath, Sigur Ros, The Afghan Whigs, Tallest Man on Earth, Sharon Van Etten, and JEFF the Brotherhood are good gets. The rest is average or worse.
