Like thousands of others, I bought my tickets before the lineup was announced. It's a roll of the dice, but Coachella always (except for 2009, maybe) provides a solid lineup.
I'd like adds, sure, but I doubt I'd even get to see them. You can't bank on seeing more than seven acts in a day, and I am already looking at major conflicts on Saturday and Sunday.
2014 completely unrealistic wishlist: Radiohead, Atoms For Peace, Elbow, Doves, Kristin Hersh, David Bowie, Kate Bush, Chemical Brothers, Faithless, Shy Child, Massive Attack, Zero 7, The Dickies, Holy Fuck, Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, The Flaming Lips
What I find odd is that there are some great acts on par with CP and LR in touring mode with similar drawing power and no conflict. Yet they aren't being booked.
I guess this means AEG can pay off their mostly uninsured 2009 Michael Jackson O2 debts(into the 8 figures) off a little faster.
Amazed how many people are cool with not getting replacement acts....
You could start a thread....glad there are no adds and they'd complain on the other side....
Hey dummies--maybe they are planning on adding to the lineup but don't feel the need to make the announcement until the festival dates are closer. It's sold out, so it's not like a big announcement is needed to sell tickets. Plus, a big announcement this early could drive the secondary market's ticket prices up, which would support the scalpers. It might be one of those: "hey here are the set times, plus look we added xyz to the lineup" types of things. Just because they're not doing it on your convoluted schedule doesn't mean it's not going to happen.
Stop being vaginas
I think it's safe to say that if additions happen it will be because of this thread and the other add additions OR ELSE threads.

At a certain point there's a breach in the implied agreement. If you can show that the average person's reasonable expectations for bands were not met, I bet you could get a refund on your ticket.
It'd be hard to do, but if they went as far as your batshit hypothetical then you'd have recourse.
Perhaps they are too busy having a money fight to book a few extra bands?
I used a batshit hypo to prove a point. Of course no organizer is ever going to drop all acts from the lineup. But what if they dropped two of three headliners? What if they drop 30 acts out of a 100? What if they drop all the costly acts and replace them with cheap acts who play for free?
I'm just saying, don't use that stupid disclaimer on the back of the ticket to excuse GV.
I don't know about you, but I can only watch one band at a time.

Put your money into companies who don't believe in shareholder value, please.
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
i think it is necessary so you can make the same comment on every thread.
I'm all for replacements too, however if there are no replacements, why not bump up a smaller font band up a font?
Now if the Doo Lab was cancelled then we would surely have to burn some shit....
Cat Power actually was a bit of a draw for me. I've never seen her. She's not a make or break act, but definitely added incentive to buy a ticket.
However, if they do add some acts, there's not guarantee I'll care for them, so I'm not that worried about adds just for the sake of having the same number of bands on the poster.
Plus, if they don't maybe they'll give the other acts longer set times to fill in the time?
Friday: Outkast, The Knife, Broken Bells, Jagwar Ma, Dum Dum Girls, Wye Oak, Caravan Palace, The Glitch Mob, Woodkid
Saturday: MGMT, Fatboy Slim, CHVRCHES, Washed Out, Future Islands, DARKSIDE, Banks, Bear Hands, Galantis, Warpaint, Mogwai, Nas, Temples
Sunday: Arcade Fire, Beck, Disclosure, Little Dragon, Chance the Rapper, STRFKR, Aluna George, Flight Facilities, J Roddy Walston
As of now, the line-up is excellent... a significant add right now will raise the scalper prices, thus completely screwing over any hopeful coachella go-ers that were already boned by Golden Voices ticket selling system..
I want an add as much as you do, but by this logic ^^ a significant add can cause golden voice to fuck over a good amount of people twice...
I feel like they have an add in, or near in their pockets, and they will announce two weeks before to avoid the ticket price to raise
i think it is good the Goldenvoice takes chances on artes that are lesser known so pople can exspnd there mind and see what there about also there is a chance verry small chance the there will be adds even if there are none i beleve that we all have to take a gammble sometinmes and just look at the positives like seeing jimmy cliff and pulp and menny other bands that are realy good and have the potantale to be good also coachella has a good vibe to it.
menny realy potantale
i totally agree
Who's dropped? A top sticky thread by forum moderators would be helpful. Also curious what is it about the poster that is interactive?
