What an absolutely bizarre final headliner. These guys have been listening to the jukebox of their favorite dive bar while drinking PBR far too often if they think this is something people want.

First ever US or North American Festival they've done?
Bridge School was only 30 minutes acoustic and best left forgotten.
They are getting a hilarious amount of hate for this. Should have just copied 2011 Coachella all the way and gotten Arcade Fire
Coachella '10-12(1)
Sasquatch '11
EDC '10, '12
WTF '12
ACL '12
Can't beat last year's sets by Built to Spill, Modest Mouse and Explosions in the Sky
Some reason I really like this line-up up til now. i just see three bands that i would want to see now Cut Copy,Deerhunter,Death From Above 1979....mmmmm well have fun for who ever goes.
you have got to be shitting me...
3/13-3/17 - SXSW - Austin
4/11 - The Shouting Matches - Pappy & Harriets
4/12-4/14 - Coachella Music & Arts Festival - Empire Polo Grounds
4/16 - Sigur Ros - Fox Theater Oakland
4/19 - Sigur Ros - Santa Barbara Bowl
4/22 - The Gaslight Anthem - Belly Up Tavern
6-2 - CHVRCHES - Belly Up Tavern
6/7-6/9 - Governors Ball Music Festival w/ Kanye West - Governors Island NYC
love this line up. don't know why you guys are complaining. isn't this Guns N Roses only North American festival they've done besides their laughable Bridge School thing? Surprised they managed to get them.
I would rather see Guns n Roses over RHCP
Hopefully Axl hits a treadmill before June.
they just sent out an update. miguel canceled, cold war kids added. still no word on single day tickets. they have a pretty funny "volunteer" program up now:
•There is a $20 non-refundable processing fee. You can expect to be accepted to the volunteer program.
•Besides the $20 fee, you will also be required to put down a deposit for the price of a 3-Day GA Ticket ($240) with a valid debit or credit card. The card will be charged $260 at sign up and refunded $240 within 5 days of the end of the festival as long as you complete your work requirements and follow all the volunteer rules. If you fail to complete the work requirements or fail to follow the volunteer rules, you will forfeit your deposit (essentially you will just end up paying for a ticket plus the processing fee).
so governors ball gets paid 20 bucks per person working, and if they dont work enough, they have to pay 260? interesting.
Yea yea yea....you guys picked GNR!
This is exactly why I'm not going to this festival. I rather see bands like Dinosaur Jr, Deerhunter, DFA 1979 and etc at smaller venues![–]bertelleo 6 points 1 hour ago
First off, I just want to say that I am very excited to be attending this festival and I'm sure its going to be a blast.
Out of curiosity, was Guns N Roses the plan all along or did something happen with another artist?
Thanks!

Originally, we had been chatting with Atoms For Peace to be a headliner at Gov Ball this year. It appeared that the June time period worked great for their schedule for touring in the States. A few days before we were scheduled to announce the lineup, we were informed that AFP would not be touring America until the Fall.
We reached out to handful of acts that piqued our interest. Some had already confirmed their Summer Tour plans, and were thus unavailable for Gov Ball. After we compiled a list of acts that were avail for the festival, we narrowed the list down to iconic acts that weren't 'regulars' on the festival scene, and that many of the fans had never experience in the live setting. GNR's catalog is so deep with hits, and their live show is so strong. Contemporary music festival's like Governors Ball are platforms for fans to see their favorite bands live. But it's also a platform for fans to experience music that they normally wouldn't listen to, or see live. Festivals are also about trying new things. That's part of the beauty of the experience. We're confident they will blow people's minds at Gov Ball.
ps "I would love to head straight to T5 or Roseland" - Yea bro! Two of the finest venues we have in NYC!

Any plans for after parties like Lollapalooza?! I would love to head straight to Terminal 5 or Roseland for a late show!

they just sent out another update: 3 day passes are almost sold out (less than 1,000 left) and then single day tickets go on sale friday, when they'll announce the day by day breakdown.
Sunday looks pretty decent but not worth spending $$$...

I'm supposing that there won't be anyone playing during the three headliners (Kanye West+ Kings of Leon+ Guns n Roses) right?

Awful scheduling. Glad I'm not going to this. Would not surprise me at all if this is completely revamped in a few days similar to how FYF completely changed their scheduling with GVs help.
